Odin battery?
What are you guys using for packs on the Odin, 2s, 3s? I was thinking of going 2s2100 for the radio but 3s800's on the fan as I have a bunch from flying foamies all winter :}.
If I go 2s for all I was thinking of this:

Has anyone messed with 3s on the fan to see if it is even needed? My guess not but......

Thanks,,
Troy

Hi Lappster,

I tested with 2S it was so just for the fan ...

Now I use 3S 2200 mAh with Ubec Turnigy 8-15A.

I do 3 flys of 7'30 and it's ok.

Regards

Hey Troy,
I've been running the servos and fan through a 2s 3600 outrage rx pack and I put about 6-7 flights before I charge it up and I'm putting around 2000 back into it or just under that.

I'm running the esc direct to the rx I'm not using the bec.

I'm not sure how a 10c battery will do on it with the servos and motor running through it. I'm not sure how much the motor and servos are drawing.

But me and my buddy are going to hook up an eagle tree to it and test it to see what the draw is. We are going to test it with and without the bec.

We are going to try and get some testing within the next couple days. We will be using a kong power rx pack since its a 10c pack and we'll test it on a outrage as well.

Thanks George and others,, you are always on the ball with info!

I would think 10c should be fine,, that would be a min of 50a capacity on the common sense pack anyway,, and i would think that regulator in the 7100 is only good to 15-18a anyway plus 200ma or so for the fan. I've kindof decided to stick with the 2cell route so I only have one pack to keep track of :}. Obviously the 2cell is enough cooling power for the engine, I was thinking if needed a 3 cell would allow a cooler engine.

I'm hoping to have my hands on the odin mid next week,,, YIPEEE!!!!

Thanks guys,,

Yes, I don't think it will be an issue as well but we figured since we have the stuff might as well see what the system is doing.I don't crash... I land with style

Hi,

My first test was with just one 2S Thunder power 2600 mAh 25C for Rx + fan. I used Align 2 in 1 like regulator for Rx. The problem was the rpm's fan down when I used lot of the cyclic !!

After I tested again with Align 2 in 1 but with 2S 1900 mAh for Rx and 3S 850mAh just for the fan. It was very good but I changed each fly the 3S. It was complicated about battery : 3 for fan and 1 for rx !!

Now I use just 3S jack power 25C (or 30C) 2200 mAh with two outpout : one directly on esc's fan and one on Turnigy for Rx. It's very easy for using and the power of fan is really better than with 2S.

After 3 flys of 7'30 the battery is arround at 28% and I put on arround 1600 mAh.

I use the original esc for fan.
Fan use arround 1A on fonction and 2A for start during few milliseconds.

Note : I'm sorry if my english is not very good ... ;-)
