That covers weight difference versus a 600N - but it's a shallow analysis, which may explain why people question your age. Why? because it neglects obvious considerations made by a mature thinker, i.e. considerations a man would make versus a boy. For example, the role durability plays, which an experienced pilot always accounts for because unlike children, he knows money doesn't grow on trees.

Moreover, like a child hiding from facts, which don't accord with his worldview, you don't touch on either the Vibe and Sceadu, which are both heavier than a Pantera - why's that? Granted, it's now my position the slight differences in weight ultimately don't matter all that much - except as mental masturbation amongst keyboard pilots, e.g. 2-gallon experts, yet you seem to focus on it to the exclusion of important issues.

As for the photos of the updated Raptor bits, I guess I'd better weigh one of these new ones because it may be at parity with the Pantera, or even a tad heavier as well. Moreover, this begs several questions . . .

1. Does the new one have thrust bearings in the tail rotor grips yet?

2. What about the main shaft bearings, are there still just two of them versus three in a Pantera?

3. Moreover, are they still 40% smaller than those in a Pantera?

4. More importantly, do you still have to split the side frames for maintenance? After all, what's 'your' time worth?

5. Also, is the fan still a flat plate design?

6. Is the clutch still too tiny to consider a big engine conversion?

7. Do you still need to upgrade to a $250 Kasama head just so it flies as well as a Pantera or Vibe?

Sheesh, this is too easy and while I could go on, we all know the weaknesses of the old Raptor design. That said, I for one am glad they're in the mix because even the old Titan costs double what a Pantera can be had for! Oh, what's an SE go for?

Hence, excepting Raptor fan boys, anybody with three spare gray cells in their brain will consider other products before buying, and the Pantera matches up quite well.

My 2¢

VooDoo, you seem reall like 12 y.o. mentally, but at least thats higher than your I.Q. Also, just because you work at BurgerKing in Silicon Valley doesn't mean squat.

I don't do 3D....no wait. Oh thats right, I can't do 3D!

The new 50 SE is in some shops already Mr Beech. As usual you don't know the competition, but why would that surprise anyone. Typical of most of the stuff coming out of your backside. You'll never learn.....
You walk backwards and still look the same.
They're working like mad to update their designs for 2009, which like our Pantera, feature advanced polymer injection-molded construction. Sad for them, it's Spring and they're late.

I get a kick out of what John calls the "2 gallon experts" on here. Cen't help but notice their profiles totally lacking anything, info, pictures, videos... what's up with that?

So VooDooX, where is the video of you flying? Tell you what, if you are that amazing that you can outfly a Pantera (or any other machine), I'll put together a Pantera, Frenzy, and an Evo (just so we have an old bird in there), configure them all identically, and you can come out here and fly all 3 back to back and we can video it and you can show the world how you can outfly the 2 plastic helis.

Gentlemen (and I use the term loosely in this instance) do you realize that it's contrary to the rules here on RR to conduct personal attacks. You're more than welcome to disagree about a heli issue, but quite frankly you are making a spectacle of yourselves. Act like an adult, not like a dolt.

VooDooX, do you realize that you are a troll? Your only purpose here is to stir up trouble, which is all a big bunch of fun I'm sure. That's not what RR is about. If you have something of value to add to the discussion, I'm all ears. Do you understand how to behave in a civil manner, rather than just talking trash? Truly you are making a huge FOOL of yourself. Is that your intent?

There is no side to the RR forum we're supposed to be one big happy comunity of heli enthusiasts. For some bickering seems to be far more interesting than helis. I dont' get it.

PooPooX look i see you are upset that you are not 100% happy with your first nitro heli purchase and now wish you went with the Pantera since you have been posting here ever since you got it. Maybe you could try puting some Trex stickers on the ol'girl and post it for sale as a Trex clone or something? And no you can not convert the motor to go "GREEN" it will not run off of used cooking oil, plus Wendy's would wonder where its all going.

hey! were is the reset button!

OK. I'm willing to give you a LITTLE bit of a break. Not too shabby for 6 months. Be careful you don't develop bad habits. Coming back tail in from a long distance out can be pretty dangerous. I would recommend working on your hovering in all attitudes. Do the outside figure eights. Work into inside figure eights. Nose in is pretty uncomfortable, but you really need to be able to do it proficiently to truly advance your flying skills.

Now get off our f&#@^! backs.

Keep after it. You'll get it. But... remember... there are a lot of good pilots here. We can be friends if you want, but bashing each others helis is not a good start. They can be very difficult to compare. Way too many variables, and pilot skill can definately give a bad review of even the best heli, not to say that you're that guy. Saavy? Keep practicing.
