Hi Guys ,
Ive just set up my first Gasser Vario Benzin in Bell 47 G II fuse.
Im running 4 x 8611s and 1 x 9254 and 401 Gyro with a JR 9ch 2.4 Rx with 2 x remote receivers
Power supply is 2 x 4000mA Powerbox batteries thru a Powerbox Sensor regulator switch.
Im also running a suppressed plug.
Last week I had a radio lockout but somehow saved the heli.
I have no clue why.
A ground range check does not indicate anything wrong with the setup.
The servo wires however run fairly close to the spark plug.
Both remote receivers are in the front , one on the left hand inside the canopy and one remote on the outside rear of the canopy.
The main receiver is on the cockpit floor.
Does anyone have a similar setup that works ?

Xantos,

I can't help you with your glitches, but I wonder what's this thing that hangs from your heli's tail? A Lucky charm or something?

I would check those servo wires. I was having a glitching problem with my throttle servo. While checking over the ship i noticed that the wire from the throttle servo was very close to the sparkplug. Rerouted the wire, and the problem went away.

It looks like this heli has gonads! Make sure all servo wires are as far as possible from the spark plug, the spark plug wire, and the ignition coil.

Check the battery packs? they can indicate they are ok but can tell you a lie. Having two packs do the same thing would be rare though.

If one pack fails could this cause a lockout?

Quality takes........time!

Xantos, Which model receiver are you running ? It sounds like you got a low voltage spike and the receiver rebooted. How old is the receiver? The later JR 2.4 receivers have new firmware upgrade called "quick connect". You can check it by doing the following test. Power up as normal, when the receivers are locked in ,flip the switch off and right back on. If the lights flash fast in your receivers, you have the latest,if they come back on solid, you don't .If you have two switches just leave one off and try the test. You don't really need the shielded plug cap as the 2.4 frequency is too far away in frequency terms to interfere. You will probably have some that say I am crazy and thats ok, but I have been flying my Vario Bell 47 G III for many hours with NO PROBLEMS.Another great tool is to buy a Spektrum "Data Logger". Then you can actually fly the model and when you get back you can check for antenna fades,holds,etc.. Wayne

Thanks for the response guys !
Yes Dimitris that thing hanging of the tail of the Heli is a Lucky Charm
Supposedly effective in warding off evil spirits
As i've found out its not particularly effective in sheilding electrical noise and preventing lockouts
Wayne Im running a Specktrum 9ch receiver with 2 x external remotes
Ihave to 4000mA Powerbox Batteries and connected to a Powerbox Sensor regulator switch.
Like you suggest I think I'll switch to the newer version receiver (quicker rebooting)
