t-rex 450 with se v2 align blades, high point balanced mounted on main shaft with hub and grips. Just to clarify - no crashes, 3rd main shaft, 2nd feather, 2nd hub & grips... same result.

If I set blade tracking to be true I get vibration. When I adjust the linkages + 360deg w/ tracking tape - 180 without vibrations settle but observed tracking gets to be about 1/4" between blades.

Any help would be great!!!

Thanks

have you balanced and CG'd the blades?

let me back up. here's all you need to do (or, all i've ever done in the past 5 years with no issues):

1) center the flybar using a caliper to the nearest .1mm
2) put the paddles on the same number of turns
3) balance and CG your blades
4) track the blades using the grip links 1/2 turn at a time
4a) always bring the high blade down--dont put the low blade up. in other words, shorten the high blade's link 1/2 a turn at a time until the blades track.

if it ain't broke, break it.

what head speed are you running ? where is the vib most noticeable ? in the vert fin or the horiz fin ? are your grips too tight or too loose ? could the tail be the cause ?

^^^^good questions. If your headspeed is low it will be unstable. If your dampeners are worn out it can cause problems.

Running flybarless with V-bar and and the G5 head on hard dampers. Tail blades are off. Mains are balanced chord wise and span wise, same issue on 2nd set of balanced blades.

Problem is, hand holding the heli, the only way to remove the vibrations is to bring the blades out of track. Without any blades, smooth as silk. Matching the control rod lengths perfect, right from there my tracking is spot-on. So again what I'm saying is I have to "un-track" the blades to get smooth, which is about 1/4" between the tips of the blades.

The vibration is an overall mid-frequency vibration causing noise in the vbar control loop. Grips tightened so when I put heli nose up, a light jolt will move the blades as I have done on all my helis from this up to my maxi-joker 2. Headspeed 2840rpms measured.

This is a new heli, along with the head.... Just strange that with blades tracked perfect = vibes and 1/4" off = smooooth

Thanks for the input guys!

Sounds like you have a warped blade? not sure if you mean it works on second set or both sets vibrate? do you have another heli that uses the same size blades if so check them on that heli. I have found several blades that would balance and track but vibrated and found them to be warped.

The vibration is not limited to one axis as far as I can tell without a very high speed camera, when I touch any part of my heli, I feel like if I could shrink it down to a female sized toy I could market it as the "worlds best vibrator". This is the smallest heli I own and the result is the same on two sets of fully, checked and verified chord, span... balanced blades.

I can say though that with the blades set out of track to get vibrations out I got 6 packs through of nice smooth flight on it just as good as my other 4 vbar'd heli's. I'm just analytically stumped.

I modified the align head to lock the swash and saw (all scenarios without main blades) the grips visually by eye walk and track different, JUST the grips and head button. I bought a 2 pack of main shafts with the same for the original and 2 replacements. Went ahead and bought new feathering shafts and main grips, Same. I mean identical! So now I bought the G5 Flybarless head which itself has a full new head, grips, feathering shaft, hub, main shaft.......... same.
I even bought another Outrage G5 flybarless upgrade kit and put 2 swash locks 180deg. from each other to offset the vibes due to the flaw in all 450 class swash locks, being there not symmetrical.

I then bought an upgraded main gear with upgraded hub and one way nsk bearing.

I wish I had a high speed camera to upload what I see. I've set up no less than 12 helis and never came across this. It flies great as is, but I have OCD bad which in my field is great but just a point of insanity when it comes to an explainable problem that I can't find like this.

Yes, I'm crazy. But still thanks Boss and Gunner
