Hi Guys,
Last week we received our kit from Align and mounted it before the weekend so that we could test it

First impression is a very nice and stable helicopter which is very good for beginners.

Mounting the Kit:

Overall it is a very easy to build kit but I had encountered a couple of small problems during the build

1. After mounting the Tailcase it was completely turned to the right instead of straight to the heli, this happends a lot with the Align kits but this was just to much and needed to cut a pieze from the Tailboom to align well the piezes.
2. the Aluminium bearing blocks didnt align too well with all the holes and stripped one screw.
3. Ones mounted the servos you cannot reach the Screws anymore to setup the servos to 90, you need to do that outside on the table.

Flight Report,

I mounted the Helicopter with everything Stock and Stock settings on the ESC.

Curves where in ILDE2 100 - 100 - 100 and Endpoints 100%

RPMS are about 3000 on the head with the Standard 13T Pinion which comes with the Kit.

Flies very stable at this setup and can do 3D quite well, but in my opinion its missing a lot of power to do real Manouvers, it even fels down in Tic Tocs.

The batteries used where Flightpower EVO25C 3S 2200Mah.

Gyro 750 in combo with DS520 Align Servo is a nice combination and didnt showed any problems so far, holds very well.

We only did 3 Flights but next weekend we will test more and come back with further details about getting the most of the Heli.

Would like to hear others opinions and setup changes.

Regards from Spain,

Dave

Interesting.
When you say its missing power, what are you comparing against? Like is it lacking compared to a 430XL with the same pinion, battery, etc?

Will be honest, I have never had a 450 Align but I do have Rex 500 with Strecker Engine and Flybarless and it has all the power you need to do Clocktower, Wheel of Fortune, etc.

With the standard setup of the 450 Super pro I am missing that. You notice in flight that the Engine comes down.

Maybe I did a wrong setup and or even a to strong Gear Mesh but I will check more coming weekend to see if I can adjust it to his point.

Regards, Dave

I've got a 450 SEv2 and it took 4S and a scorpion motor to get the heli to liven up. Might be the batteries too, on 3S I tried FP and TP but neither had very good punch, I run the FP 2100 4S packs now.

Anyone going straight to 4S on the new 450 pro?

The pro on the stock 13 tooth pinion and stock motor esc with good batteries gives just shy of a 3500 HS. If the power feels lacking and your only getting 3000 on the head it's not the machines fault it 's your batteries.

Yeah it seemed pretty snappy with only 11* of pitch on a new 2200 25C tenergy budget battery. Didn't want to spend much on a 3s pack as I will probably go 4s with it soon.

I test fit my Thunder Power Pro Power 4s 2250 30C and it will go in the stock canopy

Lightning power 4s 2200 25C anti-puff did not fit in the canopy.

lacking power? we'll see, a big part is "collective management"

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

With 4S you don't need collective management!

There are other benefits too like batteries lasting longer, better maintaining of headspeed during flight and so on.
