I just finished changing my Proton 50 kit to a 90.

-Turbulence D3 Head spinning 710mm MAHs
-10s 3850 extremes and Hacker C50 15XL geared 17.4/1
-Proton 50/90 carbon conversion kit
-Freya Std tail kit/boom with torque tube drive running 95mm Mahs
-AUW 10lbs 0oz (verified)
-Initial testing, fantastic power/pop but haven't wrung it out yet (just climb outs in front yard).
-Headspeed ~2100rpm
-Heliproz tuff struts for landing gear
-Futaba FASST/601/9252s
-Fromeco 2cell Lion "Relions" rx pack.
-Castle HV controller in heli mode
-Same old "cheeky chipmunk" freya canopy (yeah I need a new one).

Son, before you can soar with the eagles you have to learn to sh** with the chickens

I did an EVO 90 a couple years back when they frist came out using a kohler 32-3 on 10S 4200 mah packs. flew pretty good although it weighed over 11 pounds.

All you need to do is come up with a motor mount plate that bolts to the top of the fan shroud. You need to use the stock gearing and run a shaft on up into the upper bearing block and you'll have a solid power system that won't strip gears.

You can probably pick a lower KV motor like an Xera and go with 12s if you like. The limitation is your stuck with the stock gear ratios and need to find a motor that will work with them.

I have a EVO 90 electric. I am also using the Kohler Actro 32-3. Built for 10S for F3C competition.

If you use a 6 or 8mm motorshaft you wont need the upper supporting bearing and then it is possible to use any modul 1 pinion gear to get the desired gearratio.
