The Hotelicopter is the world's first flying hotel made from a huge Soviet-made Mil V-12 helicopter. Why?

Designed with the sophisticated, affluent traveler in mind, the Hotelicopter has 18 lavish rooms for people on the hunt for a truly unique inimitable travel experience. Each soundproofed room comes with a queen-sized bed, fine linens, a mini-bar, coffee machine, wireless internet access, flatscreen TVs and a range of amenities you’d look for in a flying five star hotel.

Other lavish features include private entertainment systems, showers, spa treatments, Jacuzzi, yoga classes, arcade gaming, a tea garden, Babysitting & Kids’ Kamp, blackjack/ping-pong table and playground for kids. The flying hotel will take its first flight this summer.

The Hotelicopter will be also be available for rent for special events and occasions.

More pictures of this lavish excess of materials on the link.

When a 'regular' helicopter has a power failure, they auto down and set it down.

when that thing has a power failure on one engine...

Yeah, no thanks.

And no way can it be real.

The "wings"... Unless they're made of solid iron, I would see them collapsing upwards with the weight of the "hotel".

I'll bet it has a drive shaft system to transfer power to the other rotorhead in the event of of a single flame out...

You buy, I'll fly..

yah.. single power failure on a helo specially that size = dooom.. no counter rotating rotor and no tail rotor = dead hotel.

sorry after being in the Navy and knowing how many heli problems we had and how many unreported crashes/incidents that the civilian world never hears about.. on properly maintained helos..

No thanks..

I noticed that the suites and rest of the interior are basically white in decor...just like an insane asylum.

Rendered
Are we gonna get all worked up every time some college student renders some crazy idea with a 3D software package?

Every single picture shows was a 3D rendering. It's all fake.

The Hotelicopter has its own webpage, a facebook page and a twitter account. Seems a little much to be just some college student rendering some crazy idea.

webpage, a facebook page and a twitter account
All of which can easily be set up by an individual. I don't see this as a commercial concern other than a VC scam. There are plenty of fronts using 3D renderings to entice venture capital, with nothing behind them but a crazy idea.

Here's some cool info, Not about the hotel, but the Mil V-12 is real.
It also uses a drive train like I was guessing....

Enjoy
