While supplies last? Heck, that's just something Lynn put in. I love her to death but she's a teacher, not a marketing type. She's doing her best to lend a hand because I am sometimes overwhelmed with work so for goodness sake don't read too much into it!

However, now that MartyH has done me the favor of raising the specter of the Tomcat, let me address it head on. E.g. a Tomcat is exactly what it says when you read more about it, i.e. an optional canopy design, manufactured in HDPE, to be available for 'both' the Tiger and Pantera.

However, I'd not made it public on the website yet because I'm still working on it - figure late April availability. Here's a link to where we've already been discussing it.

I won't lock down the price down until I finish solving issues and actually have them in hand. One thing that heavily influences the cost is how many we 'think' we can sell. It's one thing to blow 1000 of them, it's a horse of a different color to only make 100. I know this doesn't answer your question and I am sorry, but it's just too soon to know yet.

Yeah, even a small single head blow molding machine would be able to mold more than 1000 of those in a single 8 hour shift so 100 or 1000 is still not much of a production run. The cost is going to be all in the setup, head tooling and trimming nest (unless it's so awkward it needs to be hand trimmed) which are not cheap propositions. Hey John, do these come to you partially trimmed or are they a complete raw shot. I'd love to see onee raw.

I want one as well.
The cycle time should be about 15 seconds from parison to hit.
If your going one up. Then again it all depends on mold cooling.
It's the post mold stuff that kills production time.
Raw is cool!
Marty, We are way to into this. Maybe we need to step back and let JB work this. Most of the folks do not have a clue.
From mold design to screw speed is something that the pilots are clueless on. That goes for a simple injection mold of the Pantera frame. Some think that its just plastic. We know better.

You are right Bill and probably a big part of how I walked away from IMAC and became immersed in the helis. I appreciate the machine for it's pieces and what it can be assembled into. I have spent my adult life injection and blow molding plastic and appreciate what it takes to design these parts, the molds, the processes. The tolerances and properties being maintained fascinates me to no end.

I also work with both plastic and rubber injection presses. So i to am into this side of the manufacturing. After years of only working with rubber injection presses it amazed me how much faster the plastic injection cycle times were. Not to mention defect rates went way down and we were almost completely able to get rid of the post press finishing process.

In the good old days of piece rate. We would jack up water temps, screw speeds, injection pressures and so on to produce more parts in a shorter amount of time. Of course if you were caught running out of spec without a deviation, your ass was grass.

Cool stuff!!

JB, Thanks for letting the canopy out of the bag.
We all know (well the folks in the plasic biz) how much work you have put into the new design. A solid works model is one thing. But to hold it your hand has many steps. I understand you solved the speed problem with the new canopy. It's fickin fast in FF. Also it looks like it solved the in real fast FF pitch up problem that was with the stock Pantera canopy.
Folks. Here are few more views of the prototype.
