If you have the DVD, you can rip it to your hard drive using DVDShrink (PC) or MacTheRipper (Mac). Handbrake is a great program to then encode the movie to import into iTunes. All free software.

If you can download it then use eRightsoft SUPER to convert it to Ipod format. And it has to be a specific format, just mov wont work.

Just mov wont work?? What is mov used for then? I download my movies. Open mov and convert to ipod format. Then put on Itunes and download to phone. Even gives you two different formats to use if you want.

# Convert video & unprotected DVDs into any formats, including the latest ones.
# Rip videos and DVDs to watch them on any portable device: iPod, iPhone, PSP, PDA, Zune, Archos, BlackBerry, cell phones, and more.

You answered your own question.
Open mov and convert to ipod format.
Ipod has to have certain video/audio bit rates. If its not in that format then it wont play.
