i'm having trouble seeing it, what is the failure mode?
Apparently, there was no failure. It happened after a tail touch.
This was not on my machine.

The end just sheared off the TT. Looks like someone rolled the tube under a razor blade.

Wirez.
All that's left is to sleeve and plug in the tail servo to the gyro.
I ended up changing the ESC layout from what I had as well.

P.S.. she's still a hair tail heavy.

She flies!

Seems like lots of power but I didn't really try anything yet.
Still have to finalize the tail servo wire.
Tracking was right on the money.
cyclic rate was excellent (and it could go up more)
Canopy was kindof fussy to install though

i hear everyone talking about the 350 mm blades on the rave making it fly bigger and more stable, but i heard the grips on the 450 v3 are set further apart, so two quetions, does the grips being further apart give it a more stable feel than a typical 450? and could you got to 350 blades with a gearing change? is there room enough on the boom? Not that i would need to do this, but i'm a fan of longer blades moving somewhat slower for similar response with a bit better efficiency, even if its as the cost of a bit of manueverability.

Never thought I wanted an electric heli but now I gotta have one of these! Is great getting this type of information from so many sources all at once.

Looks like there is a run on these and most are out of stock.

Cant wait to see the UPS man pull up!

MMC the Pro is the same size as a normal 450 so no you cannot use 350s as you would be in the tail blades especially with the wider head block.

As for does it provide more stability prolly a little as it does make the blades about the same as 335s (a little shorter than that though)

and with the Rave on 350s its not slower at all. we are still talking 3200 headspeed and super hyper maneuvering with the stubbs on it.

its the different head design that achieves the stability with the 350s.

Awesome Pics.
That screw in the motor reminds me of the OS .40 nitro muffler mod we'd do to keep it from comming apart.

w/ this new design, the main shaft bearings look much easier to service.

I like the tail mount. If that tail mount is going to fit in the SEv2, then that's a good option for scale builders who have trouble putting the tail into a fuse.

I think the grips being a bit further apart will add instability to the rex pro, but in a good way. This heli is very nimble. It's almost as if the longer distance between blades added more leverage to the blades to flip and roll the heli.

Plus, there is now tons of cyclic throw, and tons of pitch room.

The Rave with 350's on it flies completely different. They are two completely different machines when the Rave is set up with 4s and 350's. It (the Rave) flies more like a 500 than the little 450 pro.
Rave is more stable, but in a different "bigger feeling heli" sort of way. It can still get busy with 3D.

Me thinks if the 450 pro had a stretch option, you might end up seeing some comparable competition between the two.

Don't quote me on that just yet.
I need to fly it more first. I have not flown a V2 in over two years so I can't be positive. The Rave just feels a bit bigger is all I'm saying right now.

The quality and build of the new pro head has certainly surpassed the V2 though, that is for sure. Less parts and tighter tolerances. No slop.. and it is more agile and able to withstand more extreme settings.

that's not a bad thing Casey =D I still fly a 450SE every day.

Just needs more power and a tad more stability. Its boring when compared to the Rave.
But I have lots of 325 blades and 3S 2200 batts around. so looking to modernize my old trusty 450SE V1

Will do.
Think I might go easy on her for a bit and see how quick parts support becomes available. The LHS has LG's and booms in stock already.
Just waiting on that torque tube and main shafts to come in stock before I get crazy with it.

I will surely get a first sporty flight video soon regardless. Just changing around and finalizing my wires a bit more while I square up all the settings. Maybe this weekend if all goes according to plan.

This ought to take care of my wiring problem..
The wires were kinda bent funny and rubbing carbon. You can see the bend in my wire in the pic. I took a small dremel sanding barrel to the frame and open up the hole to my rx plug port. Much more clearance on the wires now and probably not too much strength loss on the frame.
Easier on me and my wires. Now to figure out an easy way to plug/unplug my motor wires during setup..

OK folks,
final wiring layout. Pretty satisfied with it like this. No stressed wires, nothing in the way of moving parts and no chaffing.

Oh and I think I read my pitch gauge wrong. This heli can do 30* (+-15*). I guess there is numbers for other stuff on this gauge.

Now for the tail servo..

shortened it up

And finally, layout complete.
