I don't know how a airframe can produce more power, I thought that was accomplished by the engine.

Anywayz, The best thing about this kit is the price, I mean thats pretty great kit pricing and I'm sure they'll sell a few kits just because its priced so well. They did a good job copying.

Cool, thanks. How many tanks did you put through it? Did you do any big-air flying with it SpeadStick?

It's not the airframe per se but the design of the head that makes it seem like there's more power. The rotor system design on the Frenzy is more efficient than the T-Rex 600 so it allows more cyclic control with less "loading" of the rotor system. In other words the flybar system is stabilizing the head without inducing as much drag.

I have been a big fan of this style of head. So much that I almost make it a requirement for my heli purchases. It is one of the best flying head designs out there for sure and it is on a lot of helis these days. I am not a fan of the Trex head style at all. Another head style I like a lot is the one on the Knight 50 3D. Both of these head styles are top knotch.

He says he's flying at 2130rpm, which is getting up to the upper end of that OS Hyper 50. Running that high means that when it starts to load the engine then the rpm drops down into the range where it's producing it's peak power.

MAX RPM AR7100
with the AR7100 built in revlimiter the highest head speed is 2030RPM
Max engine RPM At 100% in the manual is 17340 do the math. 8.5 ratio x 2030 RPM headspeed is 17340 MAX!!! I don't know how he's getting that 2130 RPM with that reciever. or if they have Tached it that high with a sky Tach.

In order to run that 2130RPM the engine would be at 18105 RPM

At 2230RPM the engine would be at 18955 RPM how long will it last???

I know hes running serious head speed on his Frenzy becasue it is just so awsome and has gobs of power! The head speed is high and creates plenty of power for any manuver he can through at it! This weekend I will tach it myself with a sky tach and post the results!

Thanks,
Devin

I have had the pleasure of flying with Ben a couple times now and all I have to say is WOW! If he keeps in the hobby like he has in the short time he has been involved he will go on to to amazing things. The kid is 15? I think? And he is flying at an ace level. I saw him at a local FF and asked what he was doing flying a bunch of "vibes" I thought he was an align fanboy. He said that he would be helping design the new tz 90 and when it's done he is going to be flying all tz nitro birds! Ben is a 450 maniac though. I think I saw him put double the time on 450s as his nitro stuff. Getting to the point though is I was more than impressed with a $200 model that could smack with some of the bigger more established manufacturers.

Kickin it - flybar style.
