Funny, once upon a time you learned on a 30, which has between 550mm and 570mm blades.

Now 600 is too big to learn on?

I don't know about an E-600, but Nitro 600 is just right.

Once upon a time, there were only an elite few who had the time/patience/MONEY to fly helis. Times have changed. With the new 450s repair bills are a lot cheaper. With simulators you crash a lot less. As a result there's been an explosion of new heli guys into the hobby who otherwise wouldn't have been able to afford it.

I'm not saying you have to learn on a 450, but it's probably the cheaper route for most.

great bunch of opinions here, I just love flying the 600 sized heli, both the electric and nitro. Have not flown the 450's in a few weeks. But I guess i will when i want to try some new stuff!
