Thats actually a good thing that you and Casey Beta test all these goodies.
It saves the rest of us from potentionaly going down the wrong path.

Keep up the great work you two.

The Heli looks great. I like when people post original work on here. Looks like you 250 guys are really enjoying that model. I'm torn between it and the 500.

T/Y Guys!

Got a few really good flights in today. She really looks good flying around. Clear as day. The colors are so bright, I really don't have any problems seeing the direction of the heli throughout the whole flight.

nice job
I do not see "TAIL CONTROL ROD GUIDE" hooked on the boom. Is there a kit that you can buy to replace the stock rod or it's a carbon rod that you made? I am very interested. cauase my metal rod kind or bending while pushing. So I was thinking a way to solve it. But after seeing your pics, I'd like to make my own. Of cause it is inspired by you. But I have no clue how to make it myself. Can you kindly share some infomation about that control rod? Many thanks.

Control Rod
Its simply a hollow C/F rod, I think its 1/8 I.D. I took the stock 250 rod/ball link & the stock 450 rod/ball link, cut the rods to fit inside the C/F tube. Then I medium C/A'd them into the hollow tube. Its very stiff, no guide needed. Zero flex.

Heres a quick illustration in paint...

I was thinking your design this morning and came up with this drawing.

Now I think your design is better than mine. I got to try it. BTW, is it solid enough without a guide?
Thank you again.

it solid, no guide necessary. just make sure your rods go into the c/f tube enough to where they're almost touching. this ensures more contact area for the c/a to bond the metal to the c/f.

its easy, you should have no problems at all.

Looks easy, Grateful.
Thank you very much for your detailing and drawing. Currently I only have carbon rod(not hollow one). Will try to buy it and change my trex250 as yours. The custom-made push rod with your painting all in all, make this little heli looks wonderful. Beautiful. wow....
Many thanks again.

Finally put some of the new upgrades on.
Charging now to test!
The new lever works with my home made tail pitch slider
Pic of the new aluminum boom block and larger 1.3mm screws installed.
Also 1.3mm driver to fit larger screws!
New screws don't work with "special washers".

Found the max wind of the 250 today. lol
It's just not really enjoyable anymore at 15mph + winds.
Got a huge unexpected blowout, but got lucky and saved it.
This whole last 7 days has been terrible flying weather
Will have to wait for things to calm down a bit before I can say how it feels in this configuration.

I dont have the guts to try it in anything over 5-8mph. Hell the tail is not solid in the basement much less outside. What kind of dye did you use on those orange parts?

Yeah, Casey, its been the same way here. Rain or wind or both. Last weekend, it was gusting to 50. Today I tried to get a few flights in but then the wind would start gusting 15-20 during the flight. I barely made it down in one piece my 2nd flight. Packed it up and called it a day. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice. No wind in the 60s. Then back to rain on Fri/Sat.
