When I dont have time to go to the field I will do hover orientation or small circuits in my backyard. One day I was doing stationary piros when out of the corner of my eye I saw my neighbor approaching. He is fascinated with rc helis and wanted my attention so he could say how cool he thought they were and when I didnt immediately respond he threw a fork at the helicopter. I dont think he was really trying to hit it but it came just a little too close for my liking. I wanted to fly the heli right at his head but instead I landed and walked into the house without saying a word. He keeps asking when Im going to bring the birds out again, I just tell him "I already flew today". Now I do all my flying at a field or make sure he isnt home.

Mbendztdt if it was me I wouldn't have been that cool. My heli is precious to me. I've wanted one for 35yrs. and finally got it! I probably would've tried to stomp him! I don't take lightly to people messin with it. I'm not a well to do so for me it's a realized dream.
I love this stuff and can't get enough. Now I dream of a 90 nitro maybe when i'm 90 i'll have a 90

Oh believe me I wanted to stomp him bad, but i have a "temper" problem that usually gets me in trouble. So i have learned when to just walk away. If he had hit it that probably would have been another story.

I was flying at a small field just down the road from my house, when a young boy came running up asking if he could try to fly my heli. I was a little off guard and got a little nervous. People, especially Children just don't understand.
I need to get a sign or a T shirt like the one "DOOD" had in his post. That about covers it all.

We have at least three or four that are relentless.
One is a harmless fellow flyer suffering from a motorcycle brain injury - we love em and you can just tell him to zip it without hurtin his feelers. He's a riot ! He just will never get it.

The others are super seniors that are experts on everything and a few that have no clue but thats aceptable as their future newbies.

Still thats the job of your spotter to wisk away the gnat's if they get annoying. It's kinda like etiguete on a golf green.

I always wanted to see a demo with a styro cup on a 1/4" soft balsa
stick using a gasser just to get their attention . It may stop the leaning over the rail up close or yabbering over your shoulder. Not to sure if it'll go threw though.

We didit once with a old school pattern bird and a sheet of 1/2" beaded styro. Not only did it spook the willies out of us but it rattled everyone else watching just do to the noise - we stopped dueing it as it was a mess to clean up. It kept em back off the flight line during shows.

Gnat spray - lot's of it .

Been there...Done that...Go ahead admit it
WOW I am so surprised. Now dont take this wrong but we all have our moments. Just giving my 10 cents like everyone else. Just a different view. It seems like RC Pilots are just hatched out of an egg or spawned from a cosmic ooze somewhere. Somewhere sometime we all were introduced into the RC Sport. If we all were to batten down the hatches and engage the deflector shields while flying, the RC Sport would surely die off . It is guys that come up asking questions that keep the sport growing. Yes it can be bothersome at times but it wouldnt hurt to just simply say "Hey can you give me a few". Im sure that the person didnt dream all night how he or she could get up the next morning and go to the park or wherever and just Find the Poor sap with the stick thing in his hand and aggrivate him till he crashes his $25.00 Heli...oh it didnt cost $25.00 IM sorry I didnt know(Thats Why I asked). It is very facinating to a person who has not seen or been around the RC Sport. You guys have more patience and undertsanding than you are giving yourself credit for. This forum has been one of the most helpful and nicest places to get information for, and that is coming from a guy who just walks up and ask questions. (oops sorry didnt know)

I would like to say Thank You to those out there who have helped me, in my rookie, noobie, new guy on the block self.

. Somewhere sometime we all were introduced into the RC Sport.

Yeah you are right, i my case though, i used common sense watched from a distance and when they lnaded and came back to the pits i asked them if they did not mind answering a few questions i had as i was looking into buying a Raptor 30V1, they were very polite and gave me all the info i needed.. i had already done some reseach first and seen what was around....

they were really nice and i ended up getting my first RC helie

Like anyhting in this hobby common sense, not many people have it, and like when driving a car treat everyone else on the road as if they are an idiot, when i fly, before i take off i look around, and if someone comes up to me when flying i say to them " i am flying this i will talk to you once i land if that is ok" most say carry on i am just watching...

I have kids and i am always prepared for the unexpected...when flying my indoor models or my 450 in the garden

Nice work!

This thread is about annoyance. Well, I just love to annoy plankster pilots at funflys, so I wear this every now and again.

Jesusnut my only problem with the annoyers is that I am completely self taught from the beggining so I consider myself somewhat of a noob! I really need complete concentration cause I don't have it down and I've been doin it for about 3yrs. 2 with a blade cp and less than 1yr with my 450. I'm scared for all when I get it out but I would welcome all conversation post flight. I have nobody but me to learn from and lot's of times it's the hard way.I wish I still flew!!!

I think we would all be surprized who is looking and learning from us when we dont notice Speaking of flying our Heli's,
That was a good statement below......

"I am scared for all when I get it out"

If someone on this forum says that their "Pucker Factor"

does not increase X 10 They are telling a lie or they do not have a pulse
I love all you guys and your honesty.
