I think MicroHeli makes a drop in replacement main shaft that is solid and much more stout than the stock unit. If I remember correctly, I ordered it from HeliDirect.com, and they came 2 in a pack for arond $5 or $6+/-. I'm also running the MH feathering shaft, and that's stonger too.

I had a tip-over on a harder than planned auto a couple weeks ago, and put the blades in the dirt. I didn't bend either shaft!!
I'm ending all my flights in little autos (4-5ft) that sometimes have a little bounce that might bend the stock shafts, and I haven't bent a shaft since my last crash, some 25 flights ago.

How about a link to where one could purchase these shafts? I think all of use would benefit from this. Are there any better replacement servo gears for the DS75 servo's as well?

Sorry.
I am computer challenged. I don't know how to do a link for you. I'm lucky I can get around here on RR.

Here's the address you can type in.
http://www.helidirect.com

I'll see if my wife can help me do a link when she gets back from a trip. And, I'll have to find the part again. I think it's the "hardened steel main shaft" in the description.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

I would suggest the Futaba metal gear servos simply because you will not have to mill out all the servo slots. I have 5065s and they do work good.

Solid Main Shafts
All,
Just received an order from e-Boyz and the new main shafts that I received were indeed solid. They weigh a bit more but feel really substantial. Hope this helps...

I didn't mill out the servo slots to fit HS65s.
They were a tight fit for sure, but they fit. You just gotta sweet talk 'em a little!

I have found, if I use the smallest flathead screwdriver I have, I can pry the frame just enough to get the servo straightened out. Then it slides in, nice and snug.

Now, you've got to mill the frame to fit a bigger pinion(15t) to the motor, but that's a different thread...
