Last year i had the worst possible luck with my second hand N9. I had 3 massive electrical failures, the last one resulting in the machine going full negative at about 60ft, driving the heli in to the ground at full chat. The damage was horrific; not only the frames, and usual crash parts, but also the engine, pipe, receiever, 4340fp rx pack and most of the kasama head. This was the last straw for me, i had no confidence in the heli, so i sold what was salvagable, sold the servos etc, and got out of it.
For the past 8 months or so, ive been thinking about what 90 i could replace it with this year. I thought about the 700, but the numerous common faults and the fact it doesnt track well through wind put me off that one. Then i thought about an Aurora, but spares prices put me off of that one. This left me with not too many more choices, the Blitz Avro is more of an F3C machine, i dont like the belt drive from the engine, Raptors are well past their sell by date, so it left me with no more choices but the N9. I always loved how it flew, and it was never the machine that let me down, always the electrics (which were all new when i installed them), so i decided it was time.
I managed to get a kit (from EvoRC) just before the price hike in the UK (i got one for £599 - they are now £799; £100 down the echange rate changes and £100 to put them back to where they were as they were on special). Ive got a new YS91 SR, Spartan DS760, revlock 10, 9254 throttle servo, Flighttech 8A regulator, Kasama head, clutch, tail grips, Hyper drive TT, hyper collar, hyper hub extreme, and a few other odds and sods ready for it. Ive got my MP5 90 being repaired (split by the mounting hole after the last crash), but if thats not good ill replace it with a hatori 939 (i think thats the right one). All i need is a set of main blades, 4mm paddles and flybar, ar7100 rx, BLS451 cyclic servos, and a BLS251 tail servo. I cant wait! I rekon it will take me a few weeks to get it sorted and together, im like a kid waiting for christmas!
