finished building today.
no problem at all installing canopy !
it fitted perfect without any challenge.

little noise in aft white nylon gears though, perhaps not machined as close.- expecting noise to disappear as soon as broken in.

using stock canopy and original decal but ordering fiberglass one with different deco, it should be ready in 2-3 weeks.

compared with "old vibe 90", SG in not as tall, has shorter boom, engine appears to be closer to the center of the ship and the main rotor head is smaller.

I have not weight it as yet but feels lighter too !

I am booked up tomorrow but maiden flight is scheduled for Thursday,
it has a brand new YS so hovering only will be in order !

my ship will be setted for FAI; head is programable to 24 ops, quite nice !
I found "soft" dampers to be on the hard side but I am breaking in with Radixs 710mm weighting 186 grams, that should help to soft it a little faster.

Radix 105mm on tail rotor.

as in most JRs, rimming links is a must !

Really happy with it so far, no broken or missing pieces; write you back after maiden flight.

maiden flight this afternoon
choose to use Raptor black paddles.

YS red head came alive really rich at 1550 rpm, by 5th tank, neddles adjusted, it hovered at 1690 rpm, much better and the little bobbying was pretty much gone.

It will be confortable at 1750 minumum.

Soft dampers gave up more than spected, I am happy with this since I am concern no more, this ship will be able to fly FAI routines no problem.

At idle, clutch bell sounded metallic but as soon as you throttle up noise is gone.

white nylon gears noise also almost disappeared as predicted, it is not an issue.

YS red head + SB-18 is a super combo in this ship, even as rich as it was, it sky rockets at 1,690 rpm !!

3D pilots are going to go insane I am sure !!

post flight inspection showed nothing wrong or loose, few fine adjustments on throttle and elevator trims to set it up for tomorrow next 5 tanks !!

by Saturday it will fly some circuits, I will write you back Sunday with my transit flights impressions.

Mine does that too, right when I start it up, then it goes away as soon as the blades start spinning... Is that OK? Or should I be worried?

I think it is not a real problem, perhaps the clutch is quite BIG and being new it is adjusting.
I am sure mine is aligned; nevetheless, I will disassembly it next Monday to be for sure for sure.

Be sure the start shaft is nice and loose up and down, I know it goes a little against what the JR guys are used that owns Sylphides and Airskippers but this one works a little different. You don't want to pull the start hex all the way down onto the bearing while pushing up on the startshaft, it has to have play vertically. I had mine a little tight at first and also had a funky noise on startup, loosened it up completely and it went away? Not sure unfortunately if something just needed to seat properly or if it was in fact the hex, but give it a go.

if any help took me ages to align the engine so the start shaft spun free the clutch is a little tiny bit out past the bell rather than dead level i found it bound up a little if the clutch was flush with the bottom of the bell
but guess it must of paid off as never had no noise
always taken care to turn engine a little then starter shart engine a little then starter shaft also making sure the sides of engine sit dead true with sides of engine mount even used to do this with me raptors i mite be just lucky but i did notice it to be fiddley and not just bolt in and be right

I flew circuits today
it is really solid on transit !
I will dare to say, it is even more than vibe 50 !

set idle 0,1 & 2 at 1,750, 1950 & 2,100 rpm,

on 3rd tank while landing I got out of the helipad and hit the ground with the tail, we thought a fuse was gone, perhaps the autorotation gear just like CY Vibe 90 or perhaps any of the white nylon gears; to our surprise the only thing broken were the Radix 105mm !!
replaced them with the ones from old vibe and airbone again !

This is a big advancement over the old design and comes to assure just how robust this heli really is !!

I will fly it again tomorrow, will do my FAI routine and by Monday I'll write you with my final impression.

Vibe 90 SG thoughts
It took alot for me to buy a fifteen hundred dollar kit that has had no backround on it as far as bugs are concerned. I liked my Vibe 50 so much and having owned quality JR products before I figured what the hell.

I have made several posts here about my build and first initial flights on the Vibe SG.

These will be my final thoughts as I now have several gallons through the maching and the new OS HZ motor.

I had a chance to finish dialing in my FAI set up this past weekend. The motor is really starting to break in and runs super smooth. I am running 1530 rpms in a hover. The motor seems real happy there. No vibrations, the fuel tank is calm as ever and the thing just purrr's.
Upstairs I am running 1940 rpms, with Rotortech 720's at 10 degrees of pitch. The heli is extremely fast, has plenty of power and doesnt bog down at all during most FAI manouvres. It has so much power that it will do enormous loops and sky high stalls with ease. As for the tracking portion, its perfect. Once I tweaked my setup the thing is like its on rails, even when I come out of a fast knife edge turn it feels like it wants to right itself and fly straight.It will then stay on track till I hit a stick. It feels locked in at all times. One of the best I have ever owned.

Some of the guys in the earlier posts were worried about the weight.
I have to tell you the heli flys and feels light. It climbs out at a scary rate of speed and maintains it througout its flight.

I personally am super impressed by the SG, its a solid, great flying, and great looking machine. If I could only own one 90 this would be it without a doubt.

my impressions are pretty much well written in your last post !

My YS combo was wrong, it is a Hatori SB19, sorry for that printing mistake !

I wanted to try 720mm but could not find any down here in Baja.

You mentioned a much lower rpm than me, I would like to have that on my ship as well !.. Question, how heavy are your rotorthech 720mm ??
