Had the same problem twice...
Hello eperez74,
can you tell that the problem has solved?
I dought that the problem was with the washout binding.
Alon had the same problem. twice at the last month, on two different helicopters (trex700).

Best Regards,
Nadav Barak.

Had the same problem. The fix after breaking 3 sets was to decrease cyclic travel. I adjusted it initialy so that the cage just missed the blade grip. But when the heli flew and the flybar pivited full range the flybar arm hit the grip putting a load on it and snapping. How you need to set it up is to give cyclic throw max up to the grip when moving flybar to max pivot and keeping clearance. Yes to eliminate the flybar would fix it because you eliminate these parts.

I broke one more so I dropped my aliron and elevator cyclic throws to 45% (was running 55% before) and so far no more broken flybar cages.... knock on wood.

Update the real fix to the weak arms. Replace stock ones with G-Force GFT7128 Hi-Tilt Flybar conversion.

control arms breaking
If this is an issue Align needs to stop using what looks to be pot metal on those arms, they shouldn't be breaking. I don't care how hard you fly, its a materials issue and nothing else IMHO.

Right... because the other posts about binding and the fact the g-force is sloped down has nothing to do with it... it is quality control.

If you guys have your cyclic over 7* and pitch over 11* it can bind in the stick corners..
(maybe causing this?)

Not likely the plastic ball links that control the flybar would break before that metal would fail. What's that old adage? "You get what you pay for"

That would depend on of you did or did not modify the front link and drop the swash down 2mm. 12 and 8 is easily achievable with no binding.

The bars are breaking from hard use. I saw MikeBilyk's flybar cage this weekend. It was fatigue, no wear marks on the balls and no signs of binding. Its just a good thing he caught it on the ground before he went up again..

eperez74, does it change the way it feels??

I ordered a set along with the G-Force Tuner mixing and washout arms (part# GFT7126).

You cut down the front elevator link 2mm and adjust the aileron links shorter by 2mm to level swash. In its original form the swash sits too high to get as much pitch as possible, so you drop the swash so you can run more.. This was talked about quite a bit when the 700 first came out.

So what kind of pitches are you getting now? Does it relieve some of the binding on the cage?

I am getting 12 and 8 with absolutly no binding with capability to maybe get 14 and 8. No it does not relieve the stress on the cage, IMHO cheap material was used here. It is also known for the trex500 to break the cage in the same place.

Even with this mod, my flybar cage is starting to get stress cracks. So its grounded until I get the g-force cage.
