The fires are not even close to the field we will fly at, about 30 miles away. Plus the wind is blowing 180 away from the field as well.
Over 100 houses have burned to the ground, many more damaged, over 15,000 acres have burned. bad deal for sure..... We think it started by a guy burning a leaf pile. This is about 15 miles away from our house, but again the winds are blowing away not towards. 75 to 80% of the fire has been contained at this point.

All is good for the meet this weekend!!! Not EVEN close!!
Weather looking great.
See ya guys tomorrow!

GREAT WEEKEND!!!!
Had a great weekend!!!!
PERFECT Weather, sun shine, light to medium winds, about 80 to 85!
Awesome group of guys as usual!!!!!

If any of you new guys have reservations about getting into FAI style flying, don't! This group of guys is by far the BEST group of RC enthusiast I have ever dealt with and I have been flying since 1979 both planks and helis.

No pressure at all and nothing but support from the group. Extremely knowledgeable, VERY helpful etc.....

Zero intimidation at all!

Anyway Group hug......

Thanks all for a great weekend!

Standings:

F3C - 1st Gordie Meade, 2nd Rolando Perez, 3rd Tim Deperi
Class III - 1st Ben Minor, 2nd Erich Freymann, 3rd Brett Horton

I was out there on Saturday. I will say that I saw some well controlled flying. Even though it isn't 3d flying, I did see what would be called aerobatic flying in some of the maneuvers and the amount of control exhibited during those maneuvers was incredible. Wish there was a video of some of the stuff. And the S autos were awesome!

Man, I miss the eighties.

Yeah, thanks Brett for a fun weekend! You and the gang there did a great job in hosting our little group

I can't think of anything to do different next year. My bird (as usual) exhibited another flawless Kyosho performance In fact, everyone's birds were flying really well this weekend. We only had one minor mechanical issue, but no busted airframes.

Cheers,
Erich

My thanks to Brett for a GREAT weekend and a simply awesome venue. I'd also like to thank Cliff, Wayne, and a few others who, like all the contest guys, are freely willing to provide help and information to all those who need it free for the asking. This group of people are simply the most friendly and inclusive bunch with which you'd ever care to associate.

As usual, if you didn't attend, you really missed out. The solution to rebuilding contest attendance is just that, ATTENDING.

Great Fun
I had a great time, even with the bad cold I had. My thanks to Brett and the club for all the hard work. The site is awesome for F3C, probably my favorite field except maybe the AMA Muncie site.
Thanks Guys!

Loved it!
Brett, et al,
Really enjoyed the time at the contest this past weekend, what a beautiful place to fly! As usual, we get to fly as much as we can stand, learn lots, and have a great time with good friends.

For those who found an excuse for not coming to the event, you really missed out...

I'll be there next time!
