Critters - that fire sure did spread quick with the wind earlier. No matter how we tried to stop it, it was getting bigger fast. No other choice but to call 911. Next time we need to bring pressurized water cannisters. That's what the fireman adviced. Fire extinguishers will not help.

Morning MI Flyers,
Glad everyone is ok. I like the suggestion of the Fireman(Thanks 3dRob and ricerocketcar). I am heading to home depot today.

Seriously! It doesn't take much to cause a lipo to burn especially after a crash. The battery starts it's burn process the moment it get's damaged. From experience, it has to be damaged a certain way before it starts to short and destroy itself. Puffed, dinged, punctured...say bye-bye to the battery no matter how much it's holding charge. It's not worth it!

Nice guys! How much were those? I'm going to run down this week and get one. Did they come with the wands and have you tried them out yet? Does enough water spray out that it looks like it would've saved the day?

Hey Fillmoe,
The sprayer was 19.92 plus tax at home depot. These things were designed for spraying pesticides so keep that in mind. There are 3 nozzles that come with it to adjust the spray. The wand does come with it. The carbon blades are optional.

I guess the idea is if all the flyers had a similar sprayer, we would all be able to put out a small fire.

Hey just thinking out loud here, but alot of times after crashes I know we can all take a while to get to the heli carcass. It might be a good practice that anytime a bird goes down that the first priority is to get to it and unplug batteries whether it's a N or E bird. This way even if a battery does decide to light off we can deal with it quick or call in reinforcments from the "Round Up" squad. Also maybe stashing a hoe or two in the trees............not those kind of hoes, the garden tools

. I think had we had a hoe around we could have put out the edges of the fire pretty easily on Sunday.

Thanks guys. We are officially here. Roumel is still asleep in his room as it is only 7am right now. We got here at the hotel at midnight. Had some late supper of spicy Chinese food and some beer with my Singaporean friends.

Today we are heading for some pampering. Foot massages and manicures, ha ha ha. Then some shopping.

Hope you guys have some fun flying tomorrow. We did not even bring a flight simulator. We may go to some hobby shops on Monday.

Enjoy flying and hopefully you guys don't have to do a lot of squirting. ha ha ha.
