Well I put my 3rd and 4th tank of fuel through my Predator Condor on Saturday and was able to get the engine to hover nicely with not much 4 stroking.

My cronic issue is keeping the darn muffler bolted on tightly. It comes loose about every 9 minutes. So far I have taken it completely off and cleaned the gasket and surfaces, heated the block where the bolts screw in and loctited the bejesus out of them. that technique lasted a whopping 9 minutes. Second try was to fighten the heck out of them right after landing while things are really warm. I heard that will cure it, but I am not too confident. Only got to run it for 3 minutes before it was too dark. It was still tight but I am not confident.

So please share with me the Predator secret for installing a V3 muffler on a G26PUH Hanson engine.

I appreciate your help in advance..

The cure for me was the fd225 copper gasket at davesmotors

Tightened the exh. bolts after every flight/tank and after about 8 flights I've only needed to check periodically just for piece of mind.

There are other methods posted here and I'm sure a search will find them.

I would V coil the threads and even go up a size with the bolts, or you could make a rear strap for it;

Billme has a method of using goop on the threads, according to Bill this has worked for him.
Hopefully he'll see this and chime in with his comments to date.

hi
i have been having great luck with , red RTV silicone , i skip using the stock gasket ( they seem to just settle over time and allow the exhaust to loosen ) , RTV the bolt threads and in the boltholes , and both surfaces , use a thin coat , crank it down good , and let it sit for at least 24 hours , this method holds tight and still comes undone when you want it to

Same as coppercxlad, holds for at least a dozen flights for me.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Doug Darby,

I spray on a very light coat of Permatex Copper Spray-A-Gasket (High Temp Sealant) on both sides and let dry before assembly. I really don't think it's needed as long as both mating surfaces are clean and free of any major blemishes. I just put it on for piece of mind, I guess. The gasket is soft and will compress and seal each time you tighten after a flight.

The Permatex can is orange and part number is 191MA. Found it in my local auto parts store.

Make a strap for it
There is too much weight hanging on the two bolts I firmly believe if you make a strap in the rear section of the muffler and bolt it to the existing threaded hole in the crankcase it can do you wonders.

I got mine to stay on when I had it, but I always felt that the strap will be better. Never got around to doing it as I went to the zimmerman rear mount muffler instead.

I use red RTV silicone and heat the bolts before screw them to the engine. It last for 2 years already.

I was discussing this with Bill a few weeks ago and he recommended normal household goop as mentioned above. I tried it and havent had a problem since. When you put it on, dont take to long to screw the bolts in. After first run, just give a final tweak on bolts, probably will still be as tight but check them anyway.
