Fellas, what size heli do you think is the best to learn 3D on ? A 200, 450, 500, etc. ? Also, what is the best overall "30 sized" electric heli out there in Thanks in advance. Thanks in advance.

I would say 450 size is about the smallest you would want to go because you need to have some altitude to try new manuvers and anything smaller will be hard to see from far away,go with something that performs well and has cheap plentiful spares, and buy as many batteries as you can afford

I started on a friends trex 450 for about 2 months then bought and built a 500. I felt much more comfortable with the 500 much more stable and forgiving. My vote is for a 500 sized.

I think a 500 is the best heli to start with, or an E 600. 450's and smaller are not as stable and forgiving as TADitto said.

500 without a doubt. Almost as stable as a 600 but cheaper to repair. 450's are fine on calm days but you have to be quicker to react.

60% of the time, it works every time!

+1 for the 500 vote for heli to learn to fly 3D on. Nearly as stable as the larger helis, big enough that you can see it and cheap enough for economical repairs.
