Hi hbking, she won't get off the ground?? The stock motor is weak as hell, but i always was able to get airborne with it.I'm currently running the 3100 brushless & 25 amp esc. So far it's working fine.

Spencer,

Another option is to order the Esky 3900KV motor. I use this motor on my King. I also use the Dynam 30A ESC. Of course, what Tyran provided above will work, as well.

Are you and your Dad going to next weekend's fly-in? I hope to see you guys there!

Some people actually get up to 20 flights.

No offense to bladeblaster but I dont think I would get the 3100 to slow, Its closer to the brushed motor headspeed and your not saving much money if any. You'll find the 3800 on a 9T pinion will be quite a bit faster than the brushed or a 3100. But will make it quite a bit more stable and fly in winds a 100 times better.

I started with the king on the HDX3800 on 8T and it flew like a kite all over the place with any wind and just generally not very responsive. I went straight to 10T and thats where it stayed. till the end I morphed it into a 450 monster.

Oh and sorry you notice I had 4 items on there? I was subtly telling you to install a hobbywing BEC regardless of whatever speed controller you use.

No Really I am the club President!!!
