Finally!! Ive been snooping for a good deal on a camera mount for a few years and I finally got one. The original owner and I believe it was made by Airfoil. Mabye the Airfoil pro 1? Not quite sure. Now that Ive got the mount here and put together its time to go video camera shopping I cannot wait to get out and start taking video, I plan on doing it as a hobby for awhile until I get good enough at it to start a business venture out of it like so many of you have. Just had to tell someone Only issue Ive got to resolve before I go out is my muffler. Ive got the CY MP5 on my Raptor 50 which as you all know spits exhaust straight down. Im thinking either a new muffer, or maybe rigging up an exhaust deflector that will shoot exhaust back toward the tail. Ive seen mufflers that extend all the way to the tail boom but Ive only seen those for 30's and 90's.

I flew an Audacity Tiger 50 for a long time... with an old tail boom rigged up with hose clamps to divert the exhaust all the way to the end of the actual tail boom. (I had a VERY well lubed tail pitch linkage assembly). By not constricting the engine exhaust... but just using that tail boom as a pipe to contain the exhaust, it didn't impact the power output of the O.S. .50 engine.

I also used a small, clear plastic display box (intended for model cars, I think) that I cut a hole in the side, just big enough for the lens on my Olympus SP-350 to peep out of... that kept most of the remaining goo cloud off the camera. I robbed the quick release off an old "potato masher" style camera strobe, and used it to provide a quick release to mount the camera on an underslung HCS mount.

All of this worked.... but I was a much happier camper when I switched to electric powered helicopters...

FWIW...

Congrats on getting a mount.

I extended the exhaust 4" past my tail rotors on a previous 90 nitro. It still did not work, depends on the wind direction and remember to never fly backwards. After the third flight and having to wipe off a camera covered in oil I sold the heli. Smoke to some degree was in every photo.

It can be done, the most successful versions of nitro all have a front mount with a ball.
