I was wondering if anyone could tell me what is required to install a Scorpion 4025-890 in a T-Rex 600CF? By the measurements the Scorpion is too wide for the frames, by about 2mm. I'm sure several folks have addressed this issue, but I can't seem to find anything on RR about it, so I figured I'd put it out here. If anyone has pictures, and could let me know what you did, how it's working for you, any tips, anything would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your input!

You only need to file or dremel out a little out of the frame for it to fit.

I have not seen a post with that problem at all. You can also Waite for the release of the HK-3730 series.

You will have to cut out the frame on your 600 to fit that motor. I recently cut my frames and am running the HK-4025 890kv off 8S packs. I am very happy with the performance. I have not crashed mine so I can't comment on how cutting the frame affects its integrity. Mine flies great!

The 3730 was supposed be out a couple of months ago. I emailed Lucien back in August and he stated that the 3730 would be available in about 4 weeks. That was over 4 months ago. I was going to wait for it but my Neu 1515/2.5D decided to die on me last month. At that time I decided to go ahead and cut my frames and run the HK-4025. I could not be any happier with my decsion.

Thank you for the info, I couldn't find anything about the 3730 on Innov8tives website. Maybe I'll e-mail them, would be nice to see some specs on it.

I am very happy with it. My Neu setup was pushing around 2100watts on 6S 5000mah packs. With the Scorpion HK-4025 on 8S, I am seeing peaks of 2900watts. The only drawback is the 4 minute flights on 8S 3700mah packs with a governed headspeed of 2150rpm. I am sure I could get a little longer flights if I got some 4200 packs and dropped my headspeed. However, I love the way it flies right now so I will just live with 4 minute flights. The Neu was a very capable setup on 6S. I just was not going to spend $275 on another motor that I did not feel lived a very long life in the first place.

Hope this helps,
Brandon

Boystoys, do you have any idea how many watts the Scorpion would push on 6s?

Daniel-
I don't have any clue about the Scorpion on 6S. I did see some Eagle Tree charts a while back when I was doing the switch. I don't remember where they were. Anyway, one of the graphs showed spikes of 115-120A running 6S packs with a large 19 or 20T pinion. I was not confident in running my CC HV-85 with amp spikes that high and know that my packs would not last long pushing them that hard. In the end I decided to sell all of my 6S packs while they were still good and switch to 8S. It killed me to go from 5 packs down to two but my 8S packs come down nice and cool and should last me quite a while. I have 3 other helis to fly while I am waiting for the 8S packs to recharge at the field. I use two CellPro 10S chargers so I can recharge both packs in about 40 minutes.

If you are not going to switch from 6S, I would recommend waiting for the 1100kv version of the 4025 or the yet to be released 3730 Scorpion motors.

Brandon,
Thanks for the info, I just ordered the 4025-1100, as it's finally on Innov8tives website. I'm not wanting to switch from 6s for the same reason, I have 6 of them right now. I hope my Phoenix 80 will be ok with the 4025-1100, I'm only thinking of running it with an 15T pinion, which I don't think should drain it to hard on 6s, but we'll see.
