I am curious about it losing accuracy as the battery dies.
I have been using one and it was like... its 1900... Now its 1800.. now its 1750....

Thats what I meant. So figure if you are dialing up your 90 and the HS is like 1850 but the battery is dieing and I read 17 something and you dial it up more...

Im thinking that the tach uses only a small percent of power of 9V battery . Ive changed my battery once in 5 or 6 years and it has always been good . If you hold tack to a tube TV (looking thru eye hole) you should see a thick dark line across screen this will tell you if tach is calibrated correctly.

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

On my little electric (450 size) I have regularly used an airplane tach with very good success. The downside is that you have to hold the heli over your head, and get the tach to read through the head with the light source above it. Not the most fun I have had, but it has always worked. No way in the world I would do that with anything bigger . . .

The Raptor has a fixed ratio. For 50 size engines use the 85T Maingear with 10T pinion (8.5:1), for a Raptor 30 use 86T Maingear and 9T pinion (9.56:1).

You must have counted wrong if you have an 11T pinion, must be 10T if you bought it as a 50 size!

You have no way of adjusting gearmesh so can only use those two gear ratios as stated. You could use the 30 size gear ratio on a 50 but the headspeed would be low.

You could have a 11 tooth TT makes optional gearing . Is your main gear white or grey ? If white with 11 tooth you can run longer blades if grey then change pinion to a 10 tooth, it will run with 11 but your motor might be out of power band.
