Hi all,

I am rebuilding the head on my Vibe 90. When I bought it from a friend, he had converted it to use an Align flybar cage. I want it restored back to the original form. I've spent over $200 on replacement parts for the head (pretty much everything except a new block).

I have followed the manual to build, but I can not seem to figure out the Seesaw mixing arm assembly for some reason. The new mixing arms do not look like the one's in the book and they do not line up with the ball on the blade grip for the linkage.

If someone could show me a few close-up photo's of their flybar/head setup, it would be much appreciated. Here is a couple pics of what I have so far (not good quality):

I found a review with some pics, thanks. Looks like I am on the right track. I turned the seesaw around to the correct way. What threw me off is the link from the blade grip to the mixing arm... WOW, that's quite the angle isn't it?

Looks like it could easily snap off in flight?

Thanks,
Lane

Thanks atvracer, but I only see one pic there (of the Vibe) and it's an aftermarket flybar cage. That's okay thou, I found some pics in the rcuniverse review.

Ah-ha!

Notice the control ball on my blade grip?

Those are NEW blade grips and they came with a LONG control ball, not a short 14mm, as per manual. What's going on... has something changed since the manual was printed and the orig. heli came out?

The manual says to use JRP994005, but if you look on Horizon, it's a LONG control ball. You guys are using a short one and in the review, they are using a short one (http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/reviews/682/32.jpg)

Which one should I use?

Thanks,
Lane

From the grip to the arm is already at a fairly good slant, if you install longer balls off the grip it will increase this angle even more.
I would call horizon or maybe someone else can clarify a part change.

i am using a long ball on mine right now and it has quite an angle to it. The problem with switching to long or short balls is that would affect the delta quite a bit right? So i'm not sure what it fly like with a short ball.

edit: I lied I'm using a short ball but mine is actually a vigor cs with scott gray head but pretty much identical to the vibe. I'm also running flipped grips so the short ball that I have on there is pretty close to center and it's a pretty good angle.

Well, I guess I'll use the long ones, as I am not one to question JR's design.

Thanks people,

Nope, can't use the long one's. Have to get the short ones.

Now I have a flybar cage on there, just to see, Can someone using a flybar cage on their Vibe 90 take some pictures from all angles for me please. Reason I am asking for all angles is, with the cage tilted all the way (left or right) it hits the bottom of the blade holder. Still a pretty good pitch for the flybar and I don't think it's an issue, but I want to see your linkage/cage setup pics.

Also, what's the reason some are flipping the grips?

Thanks,
Lane

Ok, thanks for all the help. Just waiting on the proper ball joint for the blade grips and I will be able to move on to electronics setup.

One more ?. I have the following components:

Solid G, Scott Gray Reactor and a CY Gov. Can I run all this with my DX7 radio?

Thanks.

I just plugged in the rx and performed the binding process (R921). I plugged the tail servo directly in to the rudder and it's working fine. Turned everything off and hooked up the Solid-G as per manual, turned it on and I get nothing to the tail servo.

Since I am using a DX7, should the gyro go to Aux2, Gear or Aux1 ?

Anyone using a Solig-G with a DX7 here?
