I've been doing scale planks for several years and I always liked the lines of the 500E. Just thinking about a new endevor. My 1st rotary.

I have four different airframe's to chose from:

2 MA gassers in which I run Zimmerman rear exhaust cans, and generators - I'd hate to reconfguire the exhausts " Is their room ??" due to the tapered rear of the fuse.

1 R -30 which may not have the lifting capacity

1 R Titian which is a tad heavey due to the motor I'm running with a generator, voltmajic, and cylinder temp guage. It's a beast though far as power goes , but almost creeping up on tail heavey.

So far I've discovered two or maybe three different mfg's -.

I'm looking for a heavier glass mfg for the foundation, hopefully with a few panel lines and something I can modify as needed for the
ancilariy goodies, "door's, hatches, ect"

Pro's and Cons on selections please.

The gassers would have a ausome presence in the air, put the glass work is a tad spendy, but would give me some thing solid to work with.

The Titian might be a good selection but is their good glass shells out their with a bit of detail and weight ??

Here's a pic of one of my plank scalers, like to add a 500E to the Hanger.

You did an excellent job on your Bird....
I put together a R50 with a TT MD530 Scale body.....quick and easy and inexpensive. Great for stand off scale....but not a true scale job but it flys well....I just extended my battery tray out to front of the nose as far as I could get it and it balances out real well....I am running a Hyper 50 in it and there is more than enough power. I tone it down to get a more realistic head speed.
You might look at a Century they have a nice selection and better quality glass.

i say put the titan in the century fuse. it comes with some detail molded in and its up to you to make it as scaled out as you wish just lik ewiththe jets. the glass quality i believe is better than the tt and it is set up with the holes already there to drop the rappy in. the titans boom is a tad longer than the regular rappy 50 so it may stickout a bit. dont worry about tail heavyness that what big batteries, longer ration tray extensions and hey, lead weight is for. that hyper 50 wont care.
that hornet is very nice, loks like the byron kit.
see my gallery for the 500 i did with sceadu 50 mechs.
