Hi,

Today while flying metal tail drive gear came loose and crashed, so i am replacing the whole assembly.

Do i need to apply R48 to lower and upper bearing blocks? and how does the drive gear fasten on the shaft? i mean do i need to glue it or using R48? user manual doesnt give anything page 8. It looks like really bad design by align.

Please advise.

THanks in advance

Use green Loctite on the gear and just a little of the R48 on the bearings.

I don't think its the same. People have had failures using the R48.

I just replaced mine a few months ago. I used Permatex red locktite. It has held with no problems. Cleaned everything with solvent and let it sit for twenty four hours to dry. It's still holding.
Good luck.

Guys,

I secured the gear with R48 that came with the kit, do you guys think it ll be OK ? or will it fail ? Manual doesnt say any thing about retaining this gear, weird.

Please advise.

I'd try the R48. I'm not scared of crashing. Just clean off the metal shaft with lacquer thinner and dry it first. Push on the gear and twist it. It does snug up. Your feel it snug. Be sure to let it sit overnight.

I don't know what is up with that gear. That's most likely the most common question with the 450 v2. I have heard the original is splined and the replacement kit was not. I haven't seen any instructions on it either.
Good luck

Since this comes pre assembled in the kit. What does align use to secure this?
