Has anybody heard anything from McGregar about y the DSX9 has problems with condensation behind the screen, which makes it hard to see the setting on the tx.
Because we have heard nothing about this from JR or McGregar

Please let us know if you have.

Can't be MacG or Jr, you have to admit there is a problem first before you can solve it

Daz,

How good is your maths ?? What is 1 + 1 = ? I know that the stock answer is going to be 2.... what if I can prove to you that it is 3 ?

If you could it would prove that you are just being argumemtitive and just trying to stir things . This isn't rocket science we are talking about ,it's the ability to pick up a pen telephone or keyboard and contact the customer

.....and that is the issue with MacG/JR. Not the fact there is a problem or even having admited there is a problem, in coming out with a fix.
The problem is neither macG or JR or the Reps or Customer service or whoever is responsible for publicity has bothered in 9-10 months done any of the above, other than issue a press statement extoling the virtues of buying a JR TX bag and implying that there isn't a problem and if there is its the users who don't know what they're doing.

My club no longer recommends JR Txs to any new member. Now, in the grand scheme of things that does not account for millions of pounds but it sure does reflect on the SW rep, 'cos nobody in the biggest helicopter club in this area is buying them, and that will reflect long term. In todays financial turmoil I would not have thought that any manufacturer would want to lose even a couple of sales.
"years to build a reputation and seconds to lose it" springs to mind, and that's what has happened here.

To be honest, I'm not that interested in Maths or hidden meanings, or even "I know a man who does" all I want is for someone to admit there's a problem and fix it. That's all I've ever wanted.

Not trying to be argumentative at all. Just trying to show that although anyone would say that 1+1=2. if I was there in person; I could show you that it was 3. See what I am saying ?

JR are probably looking into this but IF THEY CANNOT see the problem back in Osaka then how can they proceed ? Who can say what they are doing (in conjunction with Horizon/MacGregor), remember that all distributors have to sign a non disclosure agreement.

JR ain't the only manufacturer who keep quiet about problems/potential problems/glitches.

Look at the Futaba GUID problem.... the American distributor refused to acknowledge the problem, posts kept disappearing on a certain forum after they were posted (just like the temperature problems some of their receivers are having now !!!).

Nothing became official until Robbe (Germany Futaba distributor) published acknowledgement of the problem and I believe they issued a returns notice. (May be wrong on that but am certain that's what I read at the time). Then all of a sudden every distributor was saying, yes there is a problem and this is the fix, oh and aren't we good boys for telling you all about it !

I would call this misting a minor bugbear and not a critical issue. I know that MacGregor haven't handled it well ( but there again, what are the other Distributors doing about it? ), but they aren't a massive company and definately haven't got the resources OR THE AUTHORITY to post on this problem.

you can try and tell me that 1+1=3 but then that like mc grewggor telling every one not to worry and go spend £50 extra on a transmitter case that you dont need.....it doesnt mean anything

Edited to avoid smoke screen

Really not interested in any Futaba problems so can we not smokescreen the post with reference to them. This is about JR products and I am sorry but you can't tell me that in 9 months they have not been able to recreate the problem.....thats rubbish!!!#
All they need to do is to speak to the SW rep or read the many posts on RR to recreate the problem.
Personally, I don't think they want to find the problem, because then they have to admit there is a fault and then they have to fix it.
I would call this misting a minor bugbear and not a critical issue.
Yes, that's what you would call it, but then it's not happening to you is it.
You spend £500 on a TX that you can't use because the screen is so badly misted that you can't read the screen, and despite what McG have said , it doesn't clear in a few minutes and putting it into a bag doesn't help it either.

I've seen this post before, never really bothered to read it till now. Have any of you actually ever SEEN how an LCD is mounted and connected to the individual segment drivers?

The main problem is that the LCD and the way it's mounted to the electronics DOES NOT USE NOT A HERMETIC seal. The LCD itself is sealed, but the connection to the electronics is through nothing more than a conductive elastomer and some form of compression, usually via a spring load. If there's a polarizing filter, or reflective/transmissive material involved, these are not hermetically sealed, either.

I believe that condensation "inside" the display is nothing more than common physics of available moisture in the air, dew points, and ambient temperature.

I've seen it on my X9303 from time to time, especially here in the late afternoon, during autumn, as things cool down and dew begins to form on everything.

you have seen this post before and your right you never have really bothered to read it, although your info on how the lcd screen is mounted is usefull and intresting, this has nothing to do with atmospheric conditions it can be sunny, cloudy warm or cold windy wet or dry the problem still appears as already explained in previose postings.
