Anyone have v5.03 that installs on Vista willing to send me the files?

I have my original old v.5.00 disk but my XP machine crashed and of course it won't install on my Vista machine - If I had the 5.01 5.02 5.03 updates I could install it on someone else's XP machine and transfer it to my Vista machine but I'd rather just get my hands on the full v5.03 and install it directly onto my Vista machine

Anyone able to help me out here?

No the updates are no longer available and if I had them I would still have to install on an XP machine and transfer to my Vista machine - A straight up v5.03 I hear will install on Vista and so be the simplest solution but I will settle for the update files to get it up and running again

Thanks but I eventually found the updates elsewhere (hard find) and did the XP install/update and transferred it to a usb thumb drive but I can only run the program from the thumb drive on my Vista machine - From the HD I get errors and it won't run - Weird

So if anyone has the stand alone v5.03 installation files (cd iso maybe?) rather than the 5.01 5.02.1 5.02.2 5.03 updates I'd like to try that - In the mean time it's working ok off the usb thumb drive but it would be nice to get it working off the hard drive

Reflex XTR 5.03 and Windows Vista - "yes, we can!"
Hi!

Reflex XTR 5.04 is the first Version that you are able to install direct on Windows Vista.

Reflex XTR 5.03 and earlier was developed before Vista, so you can't.
But so you can use it with Vista:

1. Install 5.03 or older on XP, update to Versions to 5.03 if possible

2. Create a Directory direct under C: on your Vista HDD
For example C:/Reflex you have to change the security options to "modify"! This is the reason why you can't install to c:\program files, on Vista PCs there are only read + execute, but NEVER the rights to write/modify.

3. Copy the "installed Reflex" directory from the XP-PC into the first created Vista directory, create the shortcuts for the Reflex.exe to the desktop and... double click to run

---
3a You only have to copy the Reflex 5.03 from your USB-Stick to your Vista HDD to c: and change the security options to "modify".

Awesome!

Thank you!

I was copying to the \program files (x86)\ directory and no go but copying to the drive root works great

I'd heard testimonials that the full v5.03 would install and work on Vista but not the update route to v5.03 which is what I thought my problems were

But works great copied to the drive root so thanks a lot

Actually if you do exactly as stated on how to change the security settings, you can install it in the program file folder, I just did and it works

Hey Guy's,

Thank you so much for that i am so pleased, i had the other updates, just not that one, it's a bit rubbish that we have invested in Reflex XTR and now cannot download the freely available updates anymore, if the company has been sold and they have a new product, then fine, but you don't stop your customers ability to download the product they purchased...?

Thanks again.

Cheers,

Crebes..

Just search the internet for 5.04 torrent. As long as you've purchased it, and have the hardware key... that's completely legal/legit.

That's what I did to solve my problem.

I would stick with 5.02, because the physics just seem to suck somehow with the cyclics on 5.033.
Basically it f***s the cyclics on all the 3rd party models (the ones you download from the net) makeing the heli's unpredictably tighten up in cyclic & whip around at times, like the heli's have no flybar paddles. The built in models are a bit better ,but it still has this trait even on the built in models with 5.03

Haven't tried it recently on Vista though, but this is what 5.033 seemed to be like to me on XP,can't see it being any different on Vista.

That's good - MRC should have been able to distribute the updates all along but I don't think WSN allowed it while he owned Reflex - At least I never found any direct links on that page before now - Always had to get them from WSN's slow server

Hi,

this location exists since the updates are available.
MODEL RECTIFIER CORPORATION could be a distributor / support for US.
"WSN" was the mean-distributor, not the Owner, they split after 5.04., he should have no interest in disallowing these old Updates.
The owner of Reflex is the programmer, Stefan Kunde.

This split could be the reason for the new blue slimstick-dongle and 5.05. update/upgrade payment.
http://www.simwerk.de is the new (european?) Support and there are several distributors, for example:
- Kyosho Deutschland GmbH for Germany
- Kyosho Schweden for sweden
- Hobbycenter Russland for Russia etc.

I got two automatic online-updates (5.05.01 / 5.05.02) without payment after upgrading to 5.05.00.

Right - MRC was/is the US distributor for Reflex and I'm pretty sure that while Wolfgang (wsn) was partnered with Stefan the MRC update page linked to the old reflex-sim.de site rather than the files themselves like they do now

Even though the files were supposedly "freeware" we couldn't get them from anywhere else unless P2P - Hince all the difficulty in finding the files after all Reflex content was deleted from reflex-sim.de

Looks like Stefan kept Reflex and Wolfgang kept the iVol controller and website - Neither seem to host the old update files 5.01-5.03 anymore

Ronski is correct, the update/s served off the MRC site have been there for quite a long time i think ,at least the 5021us,5022us and 5030us.exe have

WSN probably didn't like it too much ,but tolerated it as MRC were the US distributor, offered backup help for Reflex and i think had some input into the update that has the Hirobo heli's in it.

Generally WSN didn't like file sharing or the files being served elsewhere(even though the protection is in the dongle)as he wanted to keep close control of the updates. Probably due to the donation "pay what you feel if you like it" scheme he had on the website.

As i wrote earlier i thought the 5030 update ruined the cyclics and made most all the models far too "whippy" and unpredictable to control input on the cyclics when flown at speed
If i remember correctly part of the 5030 update was supposed to improve funnels, wall of death and other pseudo knife edge stuff where the heli's never used to drop quickly enough ie made it appear too easy to do those things
The 5030 update did improve those things , but ruined the cyclic's IMO.
