Hey guys,
How do you tell what mounts are for the 8.45 gear ratio and what ones are for the 8.18??? I put all my mounts in the same box and I can tell any difference in them....
Thanks,
Marc

One mount has a square hole and one has a circle hole.... If I remember correctly, the mount with the circle hole is for 8.18 and square hole is for 8.45.

Strange... My fury Extreme had the mounts with round holes and 1 shim and I was running 8.18 gearing. I haven't owned an 8.45 kit but I checked the manual and it says the mounts for 8.45 have square holes. This may have changed since the manual was printed.

Maybe the round hole mounts work with 8.45 without shims or with different shims

These picture are from the Fury Extreme Manual.

Some years ago i converted my Fury from a 8:18 to 8:45, i did buy some 8:45 engine mount, and found out the was the same as the 8:18.
But for the ratio 8:45 i should not use any shims 115-47.

So i guess now the is only one engine mount.
And for 8:18 you should use the shim 115-47
For 8:45 you should not use any shims.

I geuss that the same that i written in the red box in the picture.....

On the Tempest there are a few shims to use with the ratios. The important thing is to check the fan perimeter with a feeler gauge at 90 degree points to make sure they are equal, around .020 or so will work fine. You may even have to make fine adjustments with shim stock.

All of you read Airdodger's post about three times. No matter what mount and shim pack is SUPPOSED to work, his statements ALWAYS represent the final word for this part of the drivetrain assembly.
