My trex 600 limit is set at 100 on transmitter atv, and then 80 on gyro limit screw.

I think you want it between 100-120.

go in a hole on your servo arm and get the gyro limit just above 100. The Tx ATV ONLY controls the piro speed NOT travel for the slider.

Nope not sure. I just hover it and adjust in rate mode to hold in hover. IIRC on the 600 the pitch link should be at 90d to the spindle and boom.

Set the travel limit on your 401 to 100.

Set your endpoints/ATV to 100.

Make sure your servo is CENTERED at neutral.

Find a hole (or make one) in the servo wheel that will allow you to get at least +/- 45 degrees of servo travel for full stick to stick movement.

With the servo CENTERED, go to the tail slider and CENTER it in its travel. Forget the 0.5 mm or whatever measurement, just center the slider with the servo at neutral.

THEN adjust the TRAVEL LIMIT so that you don't get any mechanical binding at either end.

The goal is to end up with the servo able to move at least +/-45 degrees with the TRAVEL LIMIT no less than 100% (or close).

Then, fire up the gyro in HH mode, switch over the NORMAL, and hover. Adjust the LINKAGE until the heli doesn't want to yaw left or right in hover. Recheck and tweak the TRAVEL LIMIT to eliminate binding. Go back to HH mode and go have fun.

And the RUDDER CHANNEL ENDPOINT/ATV setting is NEVER used to adjust total servo travel, it ONLY adjusts the maximum rate at which the heli will yaw under full rudder ("piro" rate).

Oh, almost forgot. Try gain setting of about 65% for starters, adjust from there.

Dk,
Thats some good and detailed info. Works good. I just ordered a Spartan but I'll stick with my 401 until I have a reason to upgrade (if you know what I mean). I just don't have a good enough reason to tear into it just yet.
