Some shots of a Len Mount Lynx we rescued! The model came to us with two large holes in each side as it had a turbine fitted and was pretty battered in places. The Lynx was one of Len's personal models and is stunning in every respect. We plan to loop and roll this during the summer season, so keep an eye out at the UK flyins!

We fitted a set of Vario petrol mechanics and a four blade head and tail. We are just waiting for a new set of main blades for first flights. As soon as we get some video, I'll post it.

Lynx
Evening Red,
Happy new year to you and M,
Always wanted one of those, hope to see it next year at the scale meets. Making decent progress with the new Koala so hope to fly it properly this year, will not be doing loops and rolls though.
Regards,
Stephen.

Hi Stephen

Happy New Year!

That Koala really looks stunning you did a great job on the paint. We plan to put no electronics on the head of the Lynx so it will be fun with the aerobatics! We thought we had sold this one, but the customer couldn't make it over to see it. Never mind quite happy to add it to the fleet.

See you in the summer fingers crossed.

Nice Koala,who makes that? graupner?

It seems a lot bigger than the 109 you have next to it, i have only seen one of these and that had a turbine in it,

Love the paint scheme...will you ever go down the multi blade route?

Koala
It is the Graupner version fitted with Uni 2000 and an OS 90. Do not have deep enough pockets to fit the turbine like Martins.

thanks for the info, i had someone asking about the Koala, and i was unsure of who made them, many thanks for the info...

Doesnt have to be turbine to be scale, a really nice machine you have...

i like your rivets, is that the starwood kit ? reason for aksing, is i have just orderd mine, i am gonna practice on a flat surface first, i used to ice wedding cakes when i was a baker so hopefully i should be able to get them all the same...

Picked up some good tips on the other thread of James...

Looking good. Its quite a heli is the Lynx. We get then Navy varient sharing the hanger where I work sometimes.

Your model will look good, the rotor RPM will be almost scale like. The real thing sounds pretty high revving.

I have not seen a Lynx fly inverted yet, seen the Navy ones being thrashed before...stall turns and the like.

We did have the Army Air Corp Lynxs stationed here in the Falklands for a little while, but it wasnt for long...about a year or so.
One was lost during a thunder storm back in 84 I think...just off the coast of my folks farm on West Falkland...one actually did an emergency landing at the farm...some filter had got contaminated or other. They are quite an intricate machine.
