I have a similar thread in the Hirobo section. Any input will be greatly appreciated. I'm an intermediate pilot and not into hard core 3D. I presently fly Evo 50s and like the way they handle.

Get a Trex. For the majority of pilots who don't have unlimited time for their hobby (unlike me) and for whom reliablity is paramount there is nothing that comes close.

I have both and love the way that both of them fly. If your not into 3D then i would suggests the Freya EVO. It flyes just like a larger version of the 50. It tracks perfectly has a tune-able head and the parts are very reasonable. Key Word for the Freya is SMOOTH. As an added bonus since all the new machines have come out the used Freyas can be had for very cheap. Check the classifieds and you will probably find a great machine for one heck of a deal.

I love both my Avant and Freya Evo and have no plans on getting rid of either of them. Here is a brief summary of what it hink:

Avant: PROS: Wicked 3d flier, Completely tunable head, one of the best flying helis i have ever flown. Beautiful!
CONS: Expensive to fix when crashed. One way bearing Sprag still seems to be an issue, 2nd batch kits are not yet in stock in the US

Freya EVO: PROS: Smooth Flier, Plastic parts cheap, needs no upgrades to fly well, CHEAP for a 90, Quality parts throughout!
CONS: Lacks the pitch range of some of the more modern 3d machines, metal upgrades are very expensive. A little heaver then some of the newer machines.

john i can't believe you said the words reliability and trex in the same sentence. Also he didn't ask about the trex. I just bought a 700n to go with my aurora but I hope I don't become an align nuthugger like the rest of them.
