Look on the bright side. You can diagnose engine problems easier while driving since it is sitting right beside you.

I've seen them around where I live. I wouldn't want to be in one if it gets hit by a truck. Talk about a death trap.

Damn that ground is hard! When's the right time to get out of this money sucking hobby?

Not true! In crash tests it showed that most of the energy is taken by the other car! The smart is quite safe... We have a high number of them here in the cities in europe, and that is the environment where it should be used! For long distance driving you should not even think about it...

i see them running down I-95 at 80+ mph all the time, just wondering how bad or if they can find the body after the crash.

Please cancel my clearance, I have the field in sight. Got my RW Turbine Waiver, need lottery!

Dosent look bad but the thing is that there are very little energy absorbing features on that car, The main structure is built so well that the driver and passenger gets the brunt of the force.

Better fly a darn small heli, wouldnt get a 90 sized in a roof box on that thing. Cute though, and if it broke down you could put it in a pickup bed and save towing!

Kind of neat that this one uses a Suzuki GSX-R motorcycle dash for rpm's and speedometer.

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

I would feel about as safe in one of those things on the street as I would a motorcycle. Sure the gas mileage would be nice but I prefer to be able to complain about the gas prices after a wreck instead of never having to worry about anything ever again.

Lots of people must be worried about dying here. Couldn't be any worse than riding a motorcycle or bike down the street.

I see them running around San Jose in town and on the freeways. They are always speeding like they have to prove it can go fast or the driver has an inferiority complex. For about $1500 more you can get a better car like the Honda Civic.

They only get a couple more mpg than a honda civic. Really a no brainer, unless you have a need to fit into tight parking spaces.

By driving one you say to the world "look: I am a trendy tree hugger who could be driving a better car which gets the same mileage".

No worry about getting into a wreck on LA freeways, I wonder if it can accelerate fast enough to make a safe merge from the onramp into 80 mph traffic.

I think you are safer on a motorcycle because you can maneuver and accelerate/decelerate much faster.

keepin' it real

The quick research i did found that the diesel model gets 60. Gas sucks at 36 epa rated. Electric converted would be sweet, a couple of TP 6s 5000 might power it very well.

I would still buy one if i were in the market. Cuter than the Mini and more of a statement. I would have to rig it with servos, so i could drive it from the office window!

I think I'd rather have a really cool go-kart. At least then you'd stand a small chance of ever getting laid.
