Is the ESC ok mounted under batt?Does it need airflow?
Or is bottom plate or frame side better place?

Either way will work fine. One thing to consider is which tail servo you'll be running. If your going to run the stock DS-420 or the JR 290G, placing the ESC under the frame or on the side will be fine. Anything heavier like the 9257 or 34/3500G I would run the ESC under the battery tray to help get the C/G in.

Hope this helps ya!

The heli balances out well with the ESC on the front sides using TP PP 30C packs in front and a 401 on the rear. Motor wires have a nice clean bend to the ESC this way too and the esc is still away from the rx a bit and receiving cooling from the rotor. Battery lead ends up right there near the battery. I used exterior adhesive tape to hold it in place. I stopped using zip ties on my ESC's when it caused in flight fires.
