Looking for feedback 'Current' on 8 and 10s set-up's.

Looking at 'livening' up my 600E, currently on 6S TP5X'S with Z50.

Will be going for new motor/ESC and lipo's.

I'm thinking scorpion 740 on 10s 3700's
or scorpion 890 on 8s 4200's
or other suggestions !!

I fly 'mild' 3D and im happy with 4 min flight's.
No budget restraints.

Any feedback to help me decide ?

Col.

Since no budget limits, just get a 700

Seriously though, it seems more folks have gone the 8S vs 10S, but don't think it has anything to do with which one is better. It seems the folks that have done both 8 and 10, say the 10 is limitless in performance. I'm currently perfecting a 8S setup and so far really like it. Problem is that it's so darn cold here right now (-8 deg). I'm also getting ready to try a 7S setup also.

WATCH OUT!!!!!!!!

My set up and it works great - 8s 25c 3700mah
Neu 1910H/1Y motor 1050kv - one just sold here for $130 a week ago from luisiana helicam. Sweet deal on a $200 motor (new)

CC 85HV on set rpm. Works perfect.

You could also use the Tango 45-10 1050 kv motor on 8s

Have fun and enjoy the 8s, it flies very nice.....

Scorpion 890 on 8s 4200's
I have been flying a T600 with an 8s setup and Neu motor for about a year and it’s definitely been a winner. I have been using 8s 4200 batteries and the weight is very good. When shopping for batteries some are very heavy for their capacity so be sure and check the weight before you purchase.

Scorpion motors are winners and from my experience are slightly better than Neu Motors. The 8s 4200 setup with an HK4025-890 will definitely blow away those 6s setups.

You get what you pay for!!! Just like everyone says about Jazz esc's. Better than CC HV controllers but double the price. I haven't flown Jazz yet until I think I need more from my CC esc. Which now it runs perfect....
Scorpion motors run HOT also....

trex 600 on 10s
We set a 10s trex 600 up for abuddy of mine last fall...heis running the Scorpion 740Kv and 10s 4200mah Outrages...

It makes great power on 10s and we get about 5 1/2 minutes of mild 3d flying at 2100rpm's

I have not tried an 8s setup so I cannot comment on them...

I think the 10s setup is a great combo though...

BTW...the NEU motors run HOT as well....they run hotter than the Scorpions in most applications...overall the Scorpions are great motors...I will never buy another Neu motor ...that's just me...

Also....the Jazz ESC's are leaps and bounds better than the Castles...but the Castles do work and are a good value for the price...

Great stuff guys, I am on the fence about which setup to run, I was looking at the New Scorpion motor ESC combo in the latest heli magazine... they have an add for a HV ESC and a 1000+KV motor for the 600? If that is not available soon I'll go with the CC 85HV and a NEU or a Scorpion 890KV

HOT??
My 8s setup never somes down over 110 degrees on the motor, 100 esc, and 120 on the lipos. Even after hard 3D. Whats your scorpion motor at after hard 3D? I'd bet around 150.....I'm even willing to bet your lipos are hot too....?

I have the scorpion 8 turn on my 450, the 1600kv on my 500, and the 1390 on my outrage 550. None of my motors run hot. They are all just barely warm. I do not want to get into a debate over which motor is better, but you said the the Neu motor is better in every way. Well that is just not correct. What about weight? What is the difference in weight between the two. Then again there is cost. Your motor costs more. How is that better?

Boogie that 600 sure flew awesome Sat. Now I want a 600 and haven't even flown my 450 yet. I guess I should get the 600 anyways that way I have something ready after I crash the 450 first time out.

I was just correcting your poorly written sentence.

Go back to the esc's that you mentioned. Why would you pay double for the Jazz if the CC85 is running "perfect"? Either way it costs less and in that regard it is better than the Neu. I have not seen the specs on each motor, so I do not know how many watts they each produce, but I would "bet" that they would be a lot closer than you think.
