Hi,

I replaced almost 4 set after I found out my Raptor Kasama shaking during Hovering.

It happen after stunt mode , up-down-up-down-up-down throttle/pitch and inveted and tic toc then rainbow. switch to normal mode and start shaking.

I removed blade and turn the align key , the blade grip up and down. I'm using Red damper.

What cause it bent? I replaced almost 4 sets.

If understand........ Nice!!

Maybe plastic grips are not so bad and/or you are bogging the rpm which allows easier spindle flex. Could be a non-OEM(TT) spindle?

What he said.Ive never had any problems out of the stock TT parts.Mt R30 had a bone stock head with woodies (Heavy) and I could get it ripping fast as heck backwards or forward and push the right stick all the way up or down and never bent anything ----> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93DB...re=channel_page .

is it an after makert spindle..
4x? I can tell I personally pump mine and even bounced it once or twice... I even came out a move once...went hard neg and pancaked it hard and it bounced... landing gear gone off one side and I did not bend the spindle... the tracking was perfect but when I shut it down the fly bar was bent and the back plate of the engine was full of dirt..

If it is I think it must be made of low grade soft metal.

Whats your set up , head speed, collective max/min ect

Hi,

I'm using Kasama head, TT red flap damper, TT spindle and Funkey 3D 610mm. Running headspeed 2000 (TJ Rev Max) at +10.5 -10.5 (no bogging).

It bend a little, using hi speed screw driver can see the blade grip up and down.

If understand........ Nice!!

Kasama heads do not like the red dampners. Try switching to the blue ones and you won't see the shaking or bent spindles anymore.

Hi BarracudaHockey,

I use Thundertiger original. but look at this pic , is the other one Fake?

Look carefully, the latest I bought it made in China.

I haven't use yet the China made, all bend set are made in Taiwan TT. Now I'm fitting using Quick UK spindle.

If understand........ Nice!!

I run reds in mine and they seem fine. You need a pretty good head speed and I run the blades on the loose side but the only nodding I get is at the very end of an auto and as for bending spindles, if Bobby Smith didn't bend the spindle while he was flying it, it's good enough for me.

HeliProz has had both style of Header tagged parts in stock. ALL came from Ace Hobby. THunder Tiger does have some parts made in China.

It sounds like TT is going the way of Align. I guess we'll have to do hardness tests on our parts from now on.

Seeing how the problem is related to the Kasama head it may not be a TT spindle issue or in other words is application in nature. The reason I say this is everyone else with the stock equipment is fine. Possibly having stiffer metal grips puts extra stress on the spindle or maybe the head design lacks something for this specific spindle design. If Kasama or TT parts were like Align stuff for quality likely the heli would have completely shat the bed.

Then use TT parts. simple as that. How could you possibly blame TT for a bad part when it 'could' have been caused by an aftermarket part???

Brian,

The OP said he was using a Thunder Tiger part. My point is that many manufacturers are having parts made by outside manufacturers and putting their name on it. Sears has always done this. So we end up getting a part made by the lowest bidder. These other manufacturers will often cut corners, like not heat treating, tempering, etc., to save money - especially when they under bid to get the job. When their company name isn't on it, they don't seem to care about the quality as much. Profit is their main motivation.

The QuickUK spindle may be Stainless Steel which would not be magnetic, but just fine to use.
