I consider myself a very safe flyer. I do not take chances with the safety and well-being of others while flying and I don't play games. It simply isn't worth it. The long and short of it is that I crashed my heli into a parked car. I was actually very fortunate. It could have been much worse. Thank God, no one was injured.

I am currently a fulltime student and I lack the funds to pay for the damage so I am forced to liquidate some of my heli stuff. I have paid full retail for pretty much all of it on what is a very modest budget. This is painful. But it is also a very important lesson. I hope that others can benefit from my misfortunate and thus, not have to experience it.

Good luck!

Could you please explain a bit more about what happened? I don't understand how your first 3 sentences about safety tally with the fourth.

That's a bummer man. What happened exactly? Do you have AMA? If so they should cover it.

AMA coverage is not as easy as you think. First of all I believe you need to have permission to fly at the location where the incident occured. Then AMA will only cover what your own home owner's or auto policies don't cover. This is why I don't fly at public parks or other public places. I don't care how good of a pilot you are there is always potential for a mechanical failure or a dumb thumb crash. The risk in a public area is just not worth it to me. Imagine if that crash hit a person or a pet instead of a car.

Rather than believe all the mis-information out there surrounding AMA insurance, if you're an AMA member I highly recommend you contact the AMA directly immediately to report the accident and see what's covered. Hopefully you're an AMA member.

Same here, Terrabit!

You really did the right thing, but that is some way to have to pay for it! Very sorry, man.

Hope you are getting some good prices for your stuff; that will leave
you with 2 or 1 Logo?
