anyone ever flown a protos with a hs-81 or hs-82? if so, any input on how it went?

do yourself a favour and avoid those. They are cheap and nasty.
At the minimum use the HS85MG. At least they are bearing supported.
The 81 and 82 are sloppy, and crap out rather quickly.
I never used one on my Protos, but learnt on other heli's the hard way lol.

Save a little longer and get the JR Z3650's They have worked flawlessly for me, and are super strong and accurate. You pay a little more for JR servo's, but you get what you pay for right?

And if 70$ a pop for JR is 2 much for you take MKS 9660 / 9670.

9670 is MG, 0.07 sec and 27g, that is one fast cyclic servo.
