Had some fun the other day shooting a training burn we did here in town. 2 days later and alot of time in front of the computer, this is what I have to show for it. Boy, if you dont have a workflow down, well just..... DAMN! Didnt get the whole cropping thing down in Virtualdub. X axis, Y axis, XY axis yea.. okay. So the borders are a little screwy. Just did it for the department and figured I would share.

Thanks KarbonBird. By the way, do you still say the 100 wieght oil in your gimbal shocks is the way to go?

I don't know why I keep trying video, don't really have the mount for it, nor the camera for that matter. Its fun though. Probably a lot less frustrating with experience and a faster computer.

Okay, back to stills.

Edit-Whoops, just viewed it and appears as though I stuck 2 of the same clips in there.

Thanks Tommy!

I didn't notice any excess turbulance. I had to keep in mind that while it was a little warm where I was standing, the heli was being exposed to a lot more heat. Just kept my distance.

Thanks PT! I keep saying that I'm going to wait till I get a front mount and HD camera before doing any more but its just fun.

Very nice. What camera, heli setup? Can't you just crop the video to get rid of the borders?

noobs-Its not bad. Due to running on light manpower I'm usually inside on a handline or running the pump. We had an abundance of rookies so that freed me up the other day. Got to like working 95-120 hour weeks though.

rerazor-I was using my 600 with a Askman 360 pano with downlink to a set of Eyetops. Southern Balloon Works camera controller. Sony V3 was used for video (lame I know but its all I got right now).Ill try to post pics later. It used to belong to lowandslow on here.

There is a option for cropping on Vdub but I tried to use the resize function and didn't know what the different axis meant. Tried to reopen it as a finished video in Vdub to just use crop but it wouldn't reload.

Nice job mate, keep up the good work, now show the results to your bossess and how it can help them and get them to invest in a heli for operational use. It worked for me.
