well it is almost time for me to start getting parts for a new bird. was looking at getting a logo 500. but it has just came to light it might be better to get a 600. a bigger bird to grow in to. so i am looking for a few good setups for the 600. and the majer diff between the two birds.

logos...
I'd do a search here...this is a discussion that has been talked about at least 100 times

the Only real difference in cost between the 2 is the batteries....

Performance of the 600 is KIller though...much faster and more powerful than the 500's....but even the 500 is a LOT of fun to fly..

BTW...I have tried quite a few setups...and here's my favorite...

Logo 600 3d with Vbar
Scorpion 630Kv
10s 4200mah-4500mah packs
Gohbee 620mm main blades
Jazz 55 esc or a jive ESC
Bls 451's or S9451 servos(8717's are great but overkill really)

that's what is in this one...

I have both and they are great. The 600 has alot more presence in the air. As Jag said the price of packs will likely be the deciding factor.

ok ty for the info. starying to get all the info i need on what parts i need for the 600. dont mind spending a little more $ for a better bird that i can grow in to. one thing i dont understand you are using a scorpion 630 motor that can pull 120 amps and u are using a jazz 55-10-32 that has a max of 70 amp. does the batt have to do with the current draw on the esc. and is there any problems with over heating the esc. and what is the current draw with the jazz and a 10s bat.. i was thinking of using 2 zippy 5s packes.

sry if i am asking alote of ?

I guess this will be discussion 101. I'm wondering what the difference is in the cost of flight packs? I know my 500 3D takes some pretty hefty packs...6s 5000's which run around $260. That's $2.60 per flight if you get a good 100 flights---and that depends. What do the 600's use/cost? What kind of flight times do you get?

Thanks,
Tom
PS: the 500 is more than a machine you'll grow out of. It's a bonafide kick-butt machine.

i know the math on the batt and esc and the cost to fly a heli. the higher the v with a constant r in the motor then the current that is drawn from the moter is lowered there for leading to a smaller esc. the true facter, is it better to get a 500 or a 600 . right know i have a king 2 and a 450 rex. i have almost out grown the 450 i am looking for a bigger bird that can go from mild to wild. i am getting a logo but which one. what i am trying to find out. yes it will cost more for a 600. and the cost to fly it will be more. but that is not what i asked. i am looking for a good set up and the pros and cons for the 500 and the 600.

I have the exact setup Jag has except I have 9351s for cyclic and a 9251 for the tail. I seriously doubt you will be disappointed in it. The lipos for a L500 are $250 each and the lipos for the L600 are $200 each but you need two so $400. I have owned both and I am glad I stepped up to the 600, it is just more machine for the money IMO....Ron

I have a similar setup to Jag as well , my 500 is great and can do all the tricks I can but lacks as others have said presence in the air at times. You pull out a killer move but doesn't seem to wow the spectators. Consider your flying area as well, wide open 600 rules, small site then the 500 takes it.

I just built a 500. What pushed me to this size was the price in lipos and the ability to charge 2 packs at the same time with my Hyperion Duo. Having had 50 and 90 sized nitros (still do), a T450e and T500e, I figured why not try all the sizes. I can tell you from my experience is the bigger the more presence for sure however the smaller ones move and respond quicker...its like their on crack.

I'll see how the L500 goes as I havent flown it yet.

Another thing I took into consideration was the ability to use 2 6s5000s for the L500 to run 12s in a future 700e build ....
(think about how you can use current batteries for future configs)

You won't regret the L500. I just bought an Outrage 550, which is a great bird, but the Logo 500 is better.

It is a simple, very effective, well designed heli. Easy to assemble, repair, and fly's like it is on rails.

The Outrage is a great heli, and I enjoy flying it, I just like the Mikado a little better.

Can you elaborate? Are there some faults with the Outrage or is the Mikado your preference?

There aren't any glowing faults with the Outrage, it is a very well built helicopter. The Mikado just seems to have a beefier swash plate, is lighter, and very simple. I guess I just prefer it.
