I did a ton of searching on this forum, but could not get a solid answer for this Q. I'm guessing this has already been covered, but here it goes. I'm planning a new build and need real world info. What is the best combo fuse/mechanics for an electric 50-60 size huey? I'm shooting for a TREX 600 or Thundertiger 60 gas to electric conversion, or any quality equivalent. I'm looking for a combo that will fly solid and doesn't need a ton of re-engineering just to fly. Also, want to fly it on 6S, because I have a ton of 3S lipos. So the battery tray has to accomodate 2 stacked 3S in series, or back to back. Tall order All opinions are welcome

i have flown a century huey fuselage with raven 50 mechs that were converted to electric. flew very well. thereis video of it here somewhere. it was at last year's ircha. i dont believe you will find any setup that requires no mods at all but you may fins a combo with minimum mods. the setup i flew seemed very straight forward.

drive a rotary, fly a rotorcraft

Doc, thanks for the info. I don't expect to not mod anything, just didn't want to end up with a science project I just got off the phone with Century and they recommended that I talk to you about this project. They said that the Century Predator 90 with a 60 boom was what this fuse was designed around. They also said that your Raven 50 works. Do you have any opinions regarding the Hirobo 30 size Huey? I was thinking that it might be a tad small for me. I fly giant scale planes, and like the flying characteristics.

Coptercptn: Yeah, I sent them an e-mail and got no reply. I haven't found a US based phone number to contact them. Seems like it would be the perfect set up for the REX 600.

Thanks for the info. I PM'd him and got no reply. They are probably very busy getting ready for the release of this new fuse. Hopefully the fuse will be available soon. I'm seriously considering the Century 60 size fuse with Raven 50 size mechanics, converted to e-power. We'll see...

I'm currently building a Hirobo .30 Huey. So far it seems like a good machine. I have done quite a bit or research for it and most people are happy with it. There is not really anything to modify being it is a complete kit. The only thing I have changed from the kit as I added a golden rod for tail control. If you are interested in this size pm me and I'll send you all the links that I have for it.

Thanks for the heads up. I have given that Hirobo some serious consideration. How much interior room is there to work on the mechanics?
