LOL...Well James,

At least I had the balls to go out and maiden my 600 as soon as it was ready to fly....

And...by the way it takes a real man to be out in 15f deg weather eating cold McDonalds fries and a big mac while flying his new heli all around a snow covered field with with annoying winds blowing my french fries all over the place....

5 tanks and almost broken in....

Hey...I'm a hardened Civil Engineer who has learned to ignore the elements!!!.... I have schedules to meet, goals to finish... My mission completed, 600 Maidened on January 3, 2009 with more break-in flights on the agenda. Just waiting for the weather to get above 0F degs and I'll be right back out there..

Care to join me????

On the way I'll stop for a Big mac,...I'll be glad to treat you to a McD's happy meal.. Just let me know what toy you wish in advance...

I'm a hardened Civil Engineer
and thats why your throttle servo wasnt set up right on your first attempt and couldnt fly it and your second attempt your throttle servo burnt out on you on your 2nd madien flight with your 600n and you call yourself a hardened civil engineer.at least a real engineer would of got it done right in the first attempt.
Care to join me????

rich m - I was thinking about this tonight and I realized that steve#2 maidened his 600 as soon as it was done. You two want to wait for shorts and t-shirt weather. I am a little disappointed in you two.
Hey you, keep it quiet. My 600 isn't done yet and even if it was, I have football playoffs to watch for one more weekend! Mine will be done soon enough...then who knows!?!?!?

You didn't hurt my feelings...I can take a joke. On second thought, feelings!?!?! I have feelings?!?!?!

I think James and Steve #2 need a good session of hugging and smooching. They can hug each-other and all of their helicopters together at the same time

Actually.....Facts be known...

On the day before I maidened it, the 600 was running, in fact it was idling quite well even. (Steve#1 can vouch for that, he was there) The only significant operator error on that day was that I only had a half charged flight pack (I fall on my sword!) The throttle was only off a fraction and I was having more difficulty with keeping the engine running as it kept loading up with the break-in setting of nearly full rich. In addition, I had a couple of minor issues to tweak in the TX.

The good in all this is, if the flight pack had not given out when it did, I might have maidened it that day on a defective throttle servo.

With regard to the servo...
The servo burned out not due to binding or anything else that I did, it just burned out due to failure of its own. That one is on Align. I was able to get a replacement servo that same day. And that servo is operating just fine.

The maiden the next day went off without a hitch, and I got a tank and a 1/2 done. Kudo's to Rich for his tech support on helping me with the rev-limiter. And thanks to Steve#1 for the field support the day after.

I still hope to get out more now that I've cut my teeth on a nitro. We all have to learn, I'm just doing it my way...

Monday looks like it will be in the low 30's, and Monday is a Holiday in my company.

Anyone want to come join me? Good day to maiden either a 600 or Avant....

I'll Bring donuts & coffee...

Steve#2
