Damn global warming is happening here in Cedar Rapids, Mark. The weatherbug I've got on my PC is saying -22F right now.

That makes it -30C. Brrrrrr.

C54 -- where abouts is "central Iowa" with respect to Cedar Rapids?

Hey ain't it about time Mutt chimes in saying he's basking in sunny 70 degree weather? It's warm here 10*F compared to some of you. (SE Pa.)

Damn that ground is hard! When's the right time to get out of this money sucking hobby?

You know the good thing about -20 degree weather? It makes 20 degree weather feel like Summer.
Only -12 here at the moment.

I've always been amazed by that aspect of human nature which leads to so many folks willingly living in such foul, unpleasant weather half of every year.

Viva Las Vegas, baby.

Me too. And I've been examining that part of my human nature a little closer with each passing year, wondering what in the hell am I doing here? It wouldn't be so bad if I could look out the window when it's this freakin' cold and see the Tetons, but to look out and see nothing but miles and miles of the barren frozen landscape that used to be cornfields, well, it only confirms I'm a nut case...

I see it got down to -27F for night number two of this stuff, currently up to -24F as I write this.

Sorry if you thought my post was a hijack attempt at yours. You posted on the 14th (it wasn't cold here where I am until the morning of the 15th) and you asked who's going flying? I didn't ask who was flying and was only commenting that -32C was crazy cold. How cold was it in Tennessee on the 14th?

It was 13F this morning. I think with the wind chill factored in, it must have been somewhere between -5 to -10. I seriously thought I was going to cry during my 10 minute walk from the subway to class.
