Was the fan and cluch dial indicated? Or if you plan to put the motor in yourself I would say get the hyper hub. It just makes set up easyer. I would upgrade the tail hub, alot of guys run the tail the way it is and have no problems with it. From what I have read most of the upgrades just make life alot easyer other then the tail hub. Hope this helps you out. Some of the other guys on here gan probly give you more info then me, so will see what they have to say as well.

The fan hub won't fail in flight. The Hyper hub is not necesary, it just makes life easier.

I would get the long hub upgrade for the tail & that's about it for "absolute must have", even though tail hub bolt failures are rare.

The N9 is a weapon even in standard form.

Kasama's ok but what you want are these. They work perfect with the stock hub.Zero failures.

i was under the impression that the stock tail hub had a tendency to throw off a tail grip. if thats not the case, then i wont upgrade. if the chances are like 20% or better, then its outta there. So how frequently does it happen?

Thanks

You can use the stock hub with the hyper tail blade holders. Or the SE hub with the stock plastic tail blade holders. The hypergrips also work with the SE hub. Any of these will resolve the 3mm screw issue.

The original setup has the two radial bearings held by a 3mm capscrew. There were a few rare instances when the 3 mm head snapped causing failure.
Weather or not it was bad assembly by enduser is topic for a different thread. Here's some options:
Use the SE hub w/stock grips
Hypergrips w/stock hub,or se hub
Complete SE tail
Kasama grips comes w/their hubs
The newer kits have the se hub included w/kit.Search the threads here as this topic has been beaten to death and resolved many times over.
Take your time and enjoy the build.Happy flying.

Bart B, you mean one radial in the grip on the hub side and one thrust bearing on the outer side or blade side!

With the new SE setup you have two radial and one thrust for each grip held with a new type of screw. The second radial goes outside the thrust bearing and adds support so the grip doesn't move back and forth under load. I have over 800 flights with the original setup and never lost a grip. I recently switched as I view it as a precautionary thing.
