I have a Raptor 50 with a hatori pipe (2 piece). I had to cut the original canopy to make it fit with the pipe. Then I got a Canomod canopy for Raptor50 3D. it worked fine without any modifications.
I just got a new canopy by Canomod. It is for raptor50 (not 3D -Just like the one that comes with the kit - only fiberglass). it does not fit over the hatori pipe. i really dont want to cut it. does anyone have any ideas?

Unfortunately you have to cut the stock style canopies to fit most pipes. It sucks to cut into a great paintjob, but just take your time with a dremmel and it won't be too bad.

I have had to cut this one 3 different times for 3 different pipes

Cutting Pretty paint......
Definitely put masking tape over the area where you are cutting to prevent chips or scratches....draw a line and dremel it away.

I had to grit my teeth and cut my beautiful Spectra G canopy after I reversed the engine..... it sucks.

Measure twice, cut once.

I feel your pain, I stood looking at my pristine canopy wondering how I was going to bring myself to cut it.........

Why Hover a Yak, when a Heli does it better?

I have had to cut quite a few custom canopies. I just use a dremmel with a sanding drum. Take your time and test fit the canopy often. Just take off a small amount of material each time before test fitting. Just keep in mind, you can't put any material back on so go SLOW.

The cover picture of a recent Rotor World(?) had a Raptor .90 on it, with a horrible hack job of cutting around the pipe. It's OK to whack off big chunks of material to get it to fit, but finish it up with a sanding drum on a Dremel.

Sanding drum for sure on the dremel, nice and clean. Just tape up the area in case you slip.............
