The tail end of the cold mass is reaching here in Hawaii too. This morning had to wake up early to take my kid to her Karate class the thermometer was reading 60 F. First time I had to run my heater in my truck in five years. Glad to know it works....

29 degrees. Absolutely BALMY as of late here in the Northeast.
1 flight late this afternoon on Swift 16 BLinger.. Overcast, approaching sunset/darkness. Contrast really sucks that time of day, BUT I was FLYING.

Should've bought a sim. Got a bucket of used blades!

3deg F and 11 mph wind.....-15windchill.....

MMMM....better wind conditions than yesterday......

I have my TT Redline 53 sooooooo rich , just to avoid a wicked leaning out in the cold. I start it in the Van , warm it up for a minute or two. THen take out the stuff to the bench are re-fire and fly.

I TRIED starting in the Van and walking the 75 yards to the flightline, with the heli running , but sometimes it would quit ....

I am paranoid about leaning it out in these cold condtions.

Why Hover a Yak, when a Heli does it better?

It almost always, since the last 3 to 4 weeks, close to -20C, therefore I'm at a point that when they forecast a day anywhere warmer than -10C I take an afternoon off of work to go fly. I guess I'm lucky enough to be able to do this.
