Most definitely and from my experience the 821 will not last long before they strip and or fail doing 3-d

To say that you would feel a difference is a huge understatment.

You will feel a big difference and they are one of the greatest servos out there, especially on 8volt setup.

It's probably not, it's not meant to be a helicopter servo.

I should also point out that JR reccomends that the DS821 not be used for helicopters.

What helicopter?

You don't have to spend 100 + dollars a servo to realize a performance increase.

Try the JR DS8311 first, they are not as twitchy ,If you only have
been flying on DS821 you will definetly feel the diffrents with the
DS8311.

Speaking of 8V on 8717's...
Since there is now a dedicated HV servo, does anyone know if new, regular 8717's are de-rated or may fry on 8V now? Seems like a possibility, otherwise how will they sell $200 servo's?

they will not fry they are the same as they have always been and I have been using them for a year without any problems at all. the 8717's are the best by far and I can tell the difference easily between them and every other servo I have flown so far, the 9252's and 8311's are great getting into 3d but for the way I fly I love the speed and power of the 8717's

Hi!

I didnt really believe that the difference was so big between analog servos and digital.
I flew my sceadu evo50 with Futaba 3010 on cyclic and pitch for one year and then I changed to futaba 9452 (double strength and digital), it was a huge different in control. First I almost hade to increase the 'expo' cause I made to big corrections, but after a few flights I learnt to use the proper amount of correction and then it stood clear to med that I had ea lot of more precise control.
I cant really describe it, but it is a huge differenze in how the heli feels.
So, I changed my hitec hs56hb to hitec hs5065mg (digital) on my trex450SE as soon as they was available and I would say the difference was even bigger on this heli. Suddenly I felt like a much better pilot, so I was able to make all the fancy tricks a lot more precise, making the manouvers look better and me feeling more safe through them
knowing what I know now, I should have had digitals on the trex since it was new...

I read people writing the same as I just did, and B4 I thought it was a bit of bull****, but I found out I was completely wrong
